Good effort to grind that out in the end hopefully build momentum towards middle 8's. All Leeds aren't we!!!

Rhinos Stun the League Leaders
It was top against bottom as Hull FC entertained a Leeds Rhinos side playing for form as they readied themselves for the middle eights.

The Rhinos gave a debut to new hooker to James Segeyaro who arrived at Headingley in a swap deal for last seasons Man of Steel, Zak Hardaker.

But all the smart money was on the Hull FC maintaining their top of the table position with just two more games left to the split.

Thought Singleton was very good, and goal kicking aside so was Sutty.

Lilley had a bit of a mare, and it was no surprise our worst period of the game was when we moved burrow to hooker and played with one half.

Onwards and upwards (hopefully)

We've been losing games like that all season so it was a great effort. The defence was excellent for the most part, and although we struggled at the ruck for large parts of the game we battled hard, and kept Hull at bay, although to be fair their attack was very poor. Sneyd has an outstanding left boot, but he has zero passing game, and hardly takes on the line. It was o frustrating to watch the Leeds defence not pressuring him, he could've played in his smoking jacket!
Individually Garbutt was again our best player IMO, I think he's been our player of the year actually.
Lilley on the other hand was terrible. I'm not sure he has what it takes be a top level half, he looks nowhere near ready for regular game time at this level.

Agreed, and as I've said elsewhere he should be skipper next year.

Yep, nice to see with the middle 8s coming.

Show that desire and it will be a stroll in the park as you would expect.

Watching from afar tonight on holiday. Watkins showed signs last week and great to see him really hit his straps tonight. Some fairly grim kicking and last tackle options. The lilley back heel was up with sutcliffe's 10 yard scuffed drop out last week.
However, the effort and commitment was beyond doubt. Garbutt ran very well but I think we overplayed that a bit at times when we could have been going wider to get Watkins and moon involved. At times I have wondered if McDermott was losing them / he was not getting through but they clearly all put it in tonight.
Anyone know why Ferres not playing? Is he on his bike for next year?

It was easily his worse game for us, timing and kicking were well off, but by all accounts he played really well for fev
I think it just demonstrates the flaws of dual reg as players can get confused and have there development stinted by playing different systems week to week
Can someone explain why he wasn't kicking goals though as he currently has the best percentage in the league? Was it cos of injury or just another coaching masterstroke?

Sutcliffe was good at the back, it seems like there would not be much risk in giving him the 1 shirt for a year or two where there is less pressure, before moving him back to the halves

Quote: Juan Cornetto "Sneyd has shown what we have missed all season an organizing 6 who can kick.'"

Where was he at the end though? In the last 10 Sneyd should have killed that game off but he doesn't have the tactical brain to be a top player
We make halves look good against us because we never apply any kick pressure
