| Such a nice bloke Bluey and I wish him all the best for the future.
I do think the players fitness seemed to drop a bit when mcdermott left didn't seem to be able to over power teams in the final 3rd of the game.
Also maybe its time for a full over haul and a new start it seems that's the way the club is heading at the mo.

| Seems a lot of energy is spent worrying about the 07 side, that's been and gone now.
not sure howi feel about mcdermott taking over, I have not been overly impressed with quinns or the signings he made, but would like to think he should have a easier task getting quality to come to Leeds. I am glad though that we have gone for a British manager rather than another assistant coach from aus

| I guess anytime someone leaves there job in sport mid-way through a contract there are rumours, speculation etc. Fact is we didn't really click last season. There were injuries, but a really poor start was never recovered from. I guess the coach takes some of the responsibility, and maybe Bluey has been made to feel uncomfortble? Uncomfortable enough to think now would be the best time to exit rather than risk a poor start to 2011 (which without McGuire and Peacock is a possibility) and face the sack.
Of course if we had managed to turn up at Wembley and performed as well against the pies in the second playoff game as we did in the first and nicked it, 4 in a row and the CC? Different story perhaps.
Good luck to Bluey, a memorable 3 years. I thought when he came in 2008 the players seemed a happier bunch - I remember Sinny actually smiling while being interviewed after the early season victory at Saints in truly appaling weather. That vibe can't last, I guess that's why most sports coaches move fairly regularly (or the players do in the case of Sir Alex and Arsene Wenger).
I'm unconvinced by Brian McDermott, Quins do play some inventive stuff, but they are very inconsistant. Maybe he can do better with a better squad and I genuinely hope we have one.

| I don't know if this has been mentioned before but I've heard from other Leeds fans that McClennan has to spend a large amount of his time looking after his chronically ill wife, maybe this has something to do with it?

A bit more meat to chew over:
www.superleague.co.uk/article.php?id=19934
Bluey left to return home to NZ.
Brian shocked and determined at the opportunity.
With Poching, Cummins and now Bluey leaving the coaching set-up the main concern for me lies in there been little or nothing in place here, regardless of how quickly that team can be put together - still doesn't leave much time for gelling, getting houses in order etc.

It doesn't need to be. It was always a rebuilding year. Accept it and look forward to 2012 with confidence.

A failed 2011 meets your agenda.
Good luck.

| Have to say I wasn't expecting this today and was initially a little shocked. I suspect Bluey's had some time away and had an opportunity to reflect and perhaps thought better to go now and leave in a dignified manner. It's going to be a tough start to next season without Peacock and McGuire and if we have the beach back we could end up with another poor start to the season - Bluey could probably forsee the scenario where he might end up sacked.
I'd like to thank him for the last three years and wish him all the best for the future.
Being exiled I watch a lot of Quins and I don't think McDermott has done too badly - he's had a weaker squad than most and horrendous injuries to key players to cope with. Whether he can do the job at Leeds (and I hope he can) only time will tell.

Agree it is A rebuilding year but that doesn't mean we need to write off 2011. Still have a strong squad, with plenty of tallent, I just hope we don't write off mcdermott too soon if results don't come straight away

| we all knew the time would come for bluey to go and all rhinos know he leaves us having put a smile on our faces. everyone can say they know someone who knows clint eastwoods dad and had heard this and that about what was going on but the future lies with Mcdermott and we should stop speculating on the way forward as it has been set.

because that doesnt work does it? He was linked with us when we knew Noble was on his way and i for 1 wouldnt of been happy with the appointment but id much rather have him as England coach than McNamara. Could go either way IMO.
