 Leeds Into The Six After Derby Win Over CastlefordThe West Yorkshire derby had it all to play for as Castleford Tigers travelled the short distance to Headingley to take on the arch enemy the Leeds Rhinos as both sides desperately needed the two points on offer. The visitors couldn’t improve their league position with a win but could increase the gap between themselves and the bottom two club while the Rhinos knew that a win by more than twelve points would lift them into the top six, at least for the next twenty hours. Much better all round performance and much more aggressive.
Again is that because of who we are playing?
Forwards running harder and not much passive defence going on this time.
Mik, Martin, O`connor, Handley and Croft the best of our lot.
Newman worse player in our team again today.
And why is it when he makes a mistake it`s someone else`s fault.
Grow up lad and get focussed on playing the game otherwise you are going to be another Jake Connor.
Smith bombing a certain try first half with a 2 man overlap.
A bit more skill and we would have scored 50 tonight.

Re Newman, tough decisions need to be made. His behaviour is a disgrace. In this sport, the ‘team’ is everything. Weird guy.
Cam Smith needs to return to basics. He’s not a half back. There’s a good player in there. He found it too easy at academy level.
Croft was excellent. Real work ethic. Johnson is an out and out hooker, it’ll be a shame to lose him.

Cas were rubbish and they seemed to be using forwards as half backs, however there were some real positives, mainly we we aggressive in defence and there was more structure. Just a few bits of skill let us down other wise it would have been 50+
Both Cam Smith and Harry Newman had shockers though, they need to work on some stuff because that’s not good enough for two senior players.
Frawley, Martin, Mom, oconner and Croft were my picks of the players.
