| Quote fanstanningley="fanstanningley"They still might get a chance we are still short of cover even with the Evans signing.Out of interest which of the younger backs would be ready for SL week in week out?'"
Id back Stephens & Broadbent over Evans straight away they'll make errors but thats part if the game both have huge potential.
Look at Newman he's grabbed his chance so has Walker back the youth dont waste a wage on a nothing signing like this.

If they are has good has you say then they will get their chance but they are both young plus you also have Walker and Newman who are also young.I'm not sure how old they are but there is not that many teenagers playing SL week in week out unless they are an unbelievable talent.

How will they get there chance though? its easy saying it, but nothing to back that up. He doesn't have any history of backing youth, so not sure where the confidence is that if they are good enough they will be in. Far more evidence to suggest it doesn't matter how good they are, known players are preferred.
Before the season ticket deadline, they told us signings were still to come, they told us youth would be a big development in the team this year. Both look a distant away right now.

| With Newman and Walker in the back line we already have youth in there. Both are prone to mistakes at times, and both struggle with the physicality against men at times.
There is a problem if you put too many young lads in at the same time at this level - physically they just get rolled and then confidence can get hit.
We do not want to get dragged into another relegation battle next year for any reason - you can understand a little caution.
I haven't seen or heard anything from Sinfield or Agar to make me doubt their commitment to bringing through the youth at Leeds.
Signing a winger makes sense. Especially if we have spare cash to go for another quality NRL middle.
I still think we're a year or two away from challenging for silverware, but if we add another big body in the middle I think Leeds might surprise a few next year (including some on here).

"Great back up signing"
Josh Walters scored a try to win a GF is much younger & i wouldnt want him either.
His past means nothing here and now he isnt good enough as for the CC game a one off win agsinst a patheric rudderless Leeds doesnt reinforce your point either they were also rans in the 2nd division.'"
I think your getting your knickers twisted about this far too much, It’s a loan signing to cover a few positions if needs be, the young leeds lads will get far more out of playing every week with Bradford rather than sat waiting for a chance in the Leeds first team.
In a capped sport and one with relegation sometimes experience is better than youth.
As I say it’s really not something to get overly worked up about, and who knows Evans may surprise you and do a good job

I agree whilst I’m sure the club want to do well and challenge for something this year, I think there’s a bigger picture being looked at, playing week in week out in the Championship will do the young players far more good than sat waiting for a chance in the first team

Are you sure you haven't got something in a twist? I thought it was just that you didn't rate him, seems like it could go a little bit deeper!!!! LOL

Probably Agar's fault, after all, he doesnt believe in youth development.
