| Arent those the rumours, that Walker wants a specialist development plan and to play FB whilst leeds want him to play 6 and this is factoring in to his decision to maybe go to Warrington?

| If Leeds do want him at 6 long term it'd still be a long time before they went with that. I think after Sutcliffe hadn't really worked there they won't be rushing a teenager into that position and he probably would start off as FB when he becomes more of a regular.
By the time any coach is ready to consider starting him in the halves (possibly 3 years away at best) then I doubt McDermott will still be coach, likewise Tony Smith at Warrington.

| other clubs want him. not just uk clubs either by all accounts. big decision for him. plenty to consider. perhaps if leeds had offered him a decent contract early instead of a very poor offer he may have signed early. whilst it's not about money it was, in my opinion, an embarrassing offer.

When Baldwinson left for NZ we apparently offered him poor money and were just all around poor in our dealings with him coming from his family the story goes.......when he didn't cut it in NZ he quickly came back to this sane club who had treated him so poorly in contract negotiations with his tail between his legs.
And we still have a healthy success rate of keeping the youngsters and senior players that we really want to keep so maybe the constant tales of us being so bad and bordering on disrespectful come negotiation time are exaggerated.

| on here? I don't think so.
I spoke to a youth coach I know at another club who have spoken to walker. they've offered double. he couldn't believe what leeds offered given he's so highly rated

If that were the case he definitely, at the very least, needs a new agent, terrible negotiation tactic.

| I agree about his agent. not exactly leeds friendly.
however leeds shouldn't give all youth players the same deal. some are miles better than others and worth that little bit more

Translation - i don't know .
Was it the same contact that told you Burrow was going to Cas and Ablett was retiring?
What is a concern is that he says that he hasn't signed yet because he sees himself as a fullback and Golding has just agreed a long term deal. He looks real quality and although he still looks a bit lightweight to play every week i hope that he is selected on merit and it is made clear that he is a member of the 1st team squad. Hopefully that will help to persuade him to sign, if only for the next couple of seasons to begin with, to see how things pan out.

| no I do know but you have a dig if it makes feel better.leeds pay all there juniors the same. always have.
if you think I'd betray a confidence like that on here you're deluded though. as for ablett and burrow I said at the time I'd been told by people in the media and the game that that was what was being reported. I simply posted it as such.

| Sounds like it might be similar to 18 year old Josh Tymon who is currently a Hull city player and was offered (allegedly) a new contract on £500 a week by city but has, somewhat surprisingly, had his head turned by a counter offer of £7000 a week by stoke. These kids will never learn that money isn't everything (Unless you can earn a decade's real wages in a year)

| It seems like Goldings five year deal has made him think twice about his opportunities here as a full back. Which is a shame because he's shown more quality in last week's game than Golding has all year. I know that sounds prone to hype and the test would be if he can do it week in week out. And of course he's too young for that yet. But I think if Golding had signed a 3 year deal walker may feel different.
Hopefully we can keep him which overall I'd say Leeds are pretty good at. Despite what gets written on here

Walker looks to have real class and abilities to become a star in several positions but I see him as a 6. Too soon to expect game management but his soft hands and eye for an opening could be used to best advantage in the most important position on the field and he would have less competition at 6 both at Leeds and at International level.
