Inevitable and not unwarranted. I personaly don't think there was anything in it other than a general insult, but it was the wrong word to use and it would be innapropriate to let it go unpunished.

I don't condone what Hardaker may or may not have said nor to whom, but we do need to maintain some sense of proportion here.
An 8 game ban when you get less for breaking someone's jaw or causing, however accidentally, a career threatening injury?
Also am I alone in regretting the loss of the word "gay" in any other context than that of reference to homosexual men?

No thread on hardaker I think you'll find- although the ban is mentioned in the match thread- it would be weird if it didn't seeing as we are discussing the game to be played against you in three days. And the first two comments about hardaker bring missing are from Leeds fans- but don't you let silly things like facts get in the way of a good rant.

Actually, I think it a little unfair to suggest the press office wrote the statement. There's plenty of big words and some well crafted sentences in there and I think Hardaker needed the six or seven days between the (alleged) offence and his heartfelt apology to put it together. After all, had he really been sorry, surely he'd have said something sooner, without waiting to see the extent of the public outcry.....
