| How happy I will be with this signing depends on what other business we get done.
If Fozzard is coming in as a 4th choice prop then it would be an excellent signing. He'd represent a considerable improvement on Hargreaves in that role and won't be costing a bundle. A front four of Graham, Fa'asavalu, Fozzard and another top drawer prop (allowing Puletua to move into the second row where he is far more effective) would be a match for anyone in SL.
If he's our replacement for Cayless then you'll have a point about us moving backwards (although in practice that won't be the case, as Cayless has hardly played a game in two years). Even in this case though, we have talented prop forwards coming through in the shape of Frodsham and Emmitt who probably aren't physically ready yet, so one year from a solid old pro while they develop further is no disaster.

What are the facts. Where are your stats to back up your statement
To start the sentence "I would imagine" would suggest you know jack about what you are talking about.

| To me it points to some financial problems or a change in priorites at Saints. He won't be on much and he's passed his best. Not a great resigning for me.
Maybe the new stadium is more of a drain that we've given it credit for. If they're rebuilding we could remain top dogs for a few more years yet.

I've already mentioned stats in comparison to KL, I don't need to look at Bailey's stats to know Fozzard works harder. I've just looked at Burgess and Fozzard works harder than him also.
Look yourself if you want, I CBA listing them all to prove what is an obvious point to anyone with eyes.

Which stats are included?
What are the omissions?
Whats the context for the comparison?

Fozzard:
Appearances - 21
Metres - 1974
Carries - 295
Tackles - 515
Leuluai:
Appearances - 27
Metres - 1952
Carries - 277
Tackles - 514
Kirke:
Appearances - 16
Metres - 855
Carries - 123
Tackles - 342
Burgess:
Appearances - 26
Metres - 2015
Carries - 284
Tackles - 438
Bailey:
Appearances - 17
Metres - 1095
Carries - 183
Tackles - 344
He does quite well in comparison really. Not a world beater, but good support to have when putting him alongside Graham, Puletua and Fa'asavalu.

What Saints need is a workhorse to take the pressure off Graham, but one that is more effective than Hargreaves (bigger and more damaging in the tackle). An experienced prop who will carry the ball and take the team forward.
We have Maurie, Puletua and Soliola for impact next year. We need a worker so we're not flogging Jammer.
So I'm focussing on carries, metres and tackles - not unusual benchmarks for that sort of prop I'm sure you'll agree.
As an aside, I find it quite funny that this board has been full of complaints over the year that the Leeds props aren't supporting Peacock enough, but scream when it is suggested there may be a more workmanlike prop playing elsewhere?

What are the stats for quick PTBs? How many tackles were dominant or solo? Whats the offloads comparison like? Maybe most important for trying to compare props - what's the comparative gametime?

Or to put it another way you've ignored less palateable stats and focussed on the stats that might best bolster your defence of what seems a shocking signing, even despite their being without any context of game time.
To quote the big bald fella: deary me today.
