Chev Walker has been confirmed as the assistant

I like Chev but I'm underwhelmed by that. I'd have liked someone to improve our creativity like the Fev coach did when he came in.

We were told we were getting new blood and a proper assistant. We went for Carr who did a great job helping us out of the poop last season. If we have gone back to someone who has been involved with the failure for last three years, then that backs up the point I made.

Evalds would be a very smart signing and if we had to pay a transfer fee I’m cool with that. He is exactly the type of player with pace and a nose for the line we are crying out for and despite it being late and Salford not wanting to do a deal money talks.

As for Chev good luck to him and I hope it works out..don’t write him off without a chance.

I think Evalds is a great player, but I see him as a fullback. If he came, at this stage of development, he would be ahead of Walker for me. Walker may have more potential, but I think Evalds has got that bit more experience and had a great season last season.

Would it not be better to sign a wing/? Having said that, not sure who is available.

But the Assistant’s job is to implement the Head Coach’s instructions so I think its unfair to blame Chev. If you blame him for the failures then you should credit him for his part in the upturn since Agar left.

If an assistant is to do what they are told by the boss and bring no ideas of their own then what is the point in an assistant! We should be recruiting an assistant who adds another dimension to the coach i.e. an attacking focused coach.

Well the assistant coach of Carr certainly had a lot of improvement in us, compared to previous people. I think you underestimate the input.

Fair point regarding Carr, but still not sure about blaming Chev.
