| Liam Hood has had to wait until being 20 to make his Leeds 1st grade debut.
Leeds' other Academy products to debut at 20 were: (in order of debut)
Paul Gleadhill, Lee Maher, Dave Wrench, Jonny Hepworth, Michael Haley, Dane Manning and Tom Bush.
All Leeds grates.

| Is that list comprehensive or merely selective?
If the former it would be worth analysing similar data for other teams to what extent overseas or big name signings impact upon the careers of academy-trained players.
I'd look into it further but I'm extremely busy this afternoon.

There's really no place for the likes of you on Substandard. [/quote:1x8x7ghm]:7098.jpg |

| Well that's thrown a spanner in the works. My family commitments now restrict my away travel so at the start of the season I did a bit of maths and worked out that saints away was the realistic chance for Kev to break the points record.
That trip has been booked ages but now I feel 16 points is an outside possibility at Salford and I need to go! I haven't spent the last 15 years watching him play to miss this historic moment!!!
2 trips over the Pennines in just over a week-the wife might not be too happy!

| I too hope its NOT at Salford that Kev breaks the record as I too will be unable to attend, like many who have been there watching him from day 1 its an ocassion to want to share.Though I have a feeling he won't make a big deal of it,certainly on the pitch. Not that breaking it against Saints who have an extra edge to it of course

Although it looks hand-picked in nature to highlight the plight of being Academy produced and twenty when making your 1st grade debut it's actually a complete list of those who have done so at Leeds during the SL Era - according to my records. I accept I should have pointed out 'SL Era' in the original post.
There were some others who I could have included as Academy produced and twenty on Leeds SL Era debut but as they had already made their debut prior to this universal full-time summer era and possibly when they were still in their teens I decided against adding the likes of Paddy Handley and Anthony/David Gibbons. The standard wouldn't have risen much if I had.
Good luck to Liam Hood in his quest to break the sequence.

After the Round 6 game V Warrington - Sinfield is now on 2,905 (15 to tie 2,920 - 16 to claim the record outright)
Later in the week I hope to post a breakdown of Sinfield's points accumulated by opponent - once I figure out if there is an easy way for me to do it.

| Rob Burrow's next Start will be his 200th in the SL Reg Rds becoming the 4th Leeds player to do so
Since Kevin Sinfield took over the primary place-kicking duties in 2003 he has averaged 9.58 points per appearance V Salford and 7.33 points per appearance V St Helens.

| I was fortunate enough to see the last 6 years of the great Lewis Jones including his final points in 1964 which set the record that has lasted so long. It would be nice to see Kevin set the new record which will not be a few years yet hopefully.

| If he keeps up an average of about 300 points a season, then he might hit 3500?
After he breaks the coming record, the next thing is 3000 points. Amazing.

| Sinfield would already have passed 3k and then some, had we not spent a wasted year watching Ben Walker pretend to be an RL player.....
More seriously, Sinfield's record is likely to be broken is by a kicker who also scores a lot of tries. Even then it would need to be someone who spends a good ten years as the kicker. Given the combination of time, ability and luck (both with injuries and being helped by playing in a good side rather than an average one) required, it may be at least another 50 years before anyone beats Sinfield's record.
