| Wane apparently interested in the job according to the Guardian.
I'm not sure. At one level he could be great in instilling some passion, better defence, and pride in the jersey. Then again, the guy is Wigan through and through. I only started watching Leeds when he was in our squad, but I'm not sure his past connection with the club is anything to get excited about (unlike Furner, for example, who was instrumental in a key season for us).
If people want a Graham Murray-style impact on the club, Wane might be best placed to deliver it, as much as he lacks Murray's warmth and charisma. Admit it, we all loved it when the likes of Morley, Fleary, Farrell and Glanville were hitting too hard in the tackle and we received an official warning from the RFL. Fans of other clubs thought we'd just become dirty, much as we have called out Wigan's tactics under Wane (although I'd hope Leeds don't go in for all this third man in cannonball stuff).
Personally, I'd prefer Tony Smith to come back (as I stated before Furner's appointment), although I admit this is much for sentimental reasons. A top profile Aussie could be good, but the appointment of someone like Flanagan would be un-Leeds like IMO (then again, so was the early dismissal of Furner). Interesting times.

| Wane would certainly sort the defence and the overall attitude out, but the recruitment at Wigan whilst he was there was pretty poor, and given how important that area of management will be over the next few seasons, I'm not convinced Wane is the right man long term

| What I hope is that GH and Sinfield spend time getting the right man, and that Agar is not on some sort of promise for an extension if we get better.
Its going to be interesting to see how the team performs in the short-term - they've done squat under 3 sets of coaches so this will hopefully some of the arguments about quality vs effort to one side (although I wouldn't be surprised to see our goal-line defence miraculously improve...). It'll also be interesting to see if any of our currently injured players suddenly get fit - will we see Ablett and even Dom the Invisible play in the near future?

| Unless the wheels fall off completely its better that than we rush to try to get a coach now. we do need to appoint for next season as soon as possible at the end of this year, and preferably earlier (even if they don't start this year) so they can be fully involved in recruitment.

| Trouble is that most recruitment for next year starts now and no head coach until the season end means we get may struggle to recruit quality

| True, but if we mess up the coach again no amount of recruitment will help. Whilst we may not be able to recruit a lot from outside our good juniors will be a year older and able to play much bigger roles. In fact regardless of who the new coach is, bringing on this next generation has to be one of the biggest priorities.

Does that matter according to your fans GH and KS select the players hence Turner's basis for legal action looks like any coach is just a figure head at Leeds!

Have you seen any games recently? The wheels fell off 2 seasons ago and hetherington is too tight and stupid to realise and Sinfield thinks he can push the bus without wheels by being tough and speaking honestly.
The Man U analogy above is 100% accurate
Great history
No forward plan
Tired and unimaginative people at top
Fans disenchanted

| Leeds do need to rebuild with a coach who as good experience and knowledge of what he wants and what Leeds need, Shane wane would give you that bite and passion back you need as a team but he is not very popular it seems with you leeds fans beggars can't be chooses and all that, But Tony Smith would be the ideal coach for you well respected and know the club no brainier IF you can get him.
