Ah interesting on Clues.. you could be right re Prop. I’m wondering if my memory failing me a bit and he said he was best forward he’d seen but I could have sworn he said prop.

Peacock was the best, but Barrie McDermott was my favourite.

Quote: Trebor1 "Bit of nostalgia on here of late and it got me thinking about the best prop ever to play for Leeds. My dad always told me it was Arthur Clues. My dad followed Leeds since a teen up to age 84 so he’s seen them all. He also used to rave about Morley.

Best one I’ve seen personally for his overal impact is JP.'"

Was Clues not a second row, famous number 12

Its always easier to look at more recent players, but JP Barrie and Kyle all take some beating.
Roy Powell prop or second row but played more second row. Roy dickenson, Steve pitchford all good from the past, before my time but Tony Fisher was ment to be pretty good world cup winning prop i think.

Darren Fleary for a no name ended up a real find for us under Murray.

He was ok as an enforcer but I think people are letting fondness for him as a person overtake logic by mentioning Barrie here.

Harrison was more of a Scrummager than anything else, but a very hard man

jp and moz would be all time team but moz 2nd row at leeds became bulkier in aus
84-85 forsome reason i rated the players each game and player of the season was trevor paterson a mark glanville of a prop amongst the bigger name signings https://www.therhinos.co.uk/timeline/1980s/1984-1985/ people that have only watched this millenium missed the many failings at trying to replace holmes and ward - 2 names mentioned in the article andy mack and russ sowden , could throw in andy mason , peter lister , the dleeve , dixie mcneill -- that season was also tc's first
