| Hampshire is contracted to Wigan until the end of 2018. Would Leeds be willing to pay the required transfer fee?

| Hampshire had a decent run at 6 for us with roberts missing for 11 games. Played 5 or 6 in halves and rest at full back. Was much better at full back seems to lack the creativity to play at 6

Would Wigan be prepared to keep paying a player they've clearly deemed as surplus to requirements?

Maybe they don't see him as surplus to requirements, just saying like.

Why would they have given him a 3 year contract extension, sent him out on loan to a Superleague Club to gain experience, if he was surplus to requirements?

| Where's he going to play if he goes back to Wigan?
Tomkins has full back sown up, with Tierney as his deputy. Williams is the future at 6. Might get a game at 7 if they're prepared to dump Matty Smith, but he's the closest thing they have to a game manager and first choice goal kicker.
If he goes back to Wigan in 2017, as things stand he's going to be struggling to get a game.

Options,
1 off the bench where he could play in the halves, or fullback with Sam to #6
2 starting at #6 or #7
3 starting at #1
Had he stayed at wigan this year he would have had more game time due to Sam and Williams being out than he has had at Cas. As we both know injuries happen!!
Wigan also run a reserve team, unlike Cas and yourselves so he would be also be getting game time there. He's still only 21 year of age, so maybe Wigan will do with him and Williams and Smith what Leeds did with Burrow McGuire and Dunemann.
If he does leave Wigan they certainly won't let him go cheap.

| Whether GH will pay a fee for Hampshire i've no idea but 1 thing is certain he has to stop shopping in poundland for players like Falloon & Achurch.

"Stand by me as I stand by you, be brave and dare to dream".: |
|
| Quote: Andy Gilder "Ryan Hampshire's no more a full-back than Jamie Peacock was.
He's been a victim of unfortunate timing at Wigan and subsequently with his move to Cas that he's had in form half-backs ahead of him keeping him out of the side. There's a good player lurking in there if he gets a run of games in his preferred position, certainly a better all-round half-back than Brierley IMO.'"
Who's the inform half backs at Cas who've been picked in front of him; Millington (prop) or McShane (hooker)?
Hampshire, from what I've seen, lacks the desire.

| Both Lilly and Sutcliffe have shown more than him, why on earth would we sign another half that needs a few years to mature?
IF we get Gale though he might stay permanently at Cas

If he's surplus to requirements but they know he's a good player.
Loan him out to put him in the shop window and get him on a long contract so that when Leeds get desperate you can demand a fee. Simples

Falloon might have come on the cheap but Achurch certainly didn't.

Even if Achurch has been on minimum wage for 4 years, still doesn't offer good value for money.

| Why on earth would we want Hampshire?
Clearly not deemed up to it at Wigan yet and only getting a game in the halves at Cas if they have bad injuries - hardly inspiring stuff.
He might turn out to be a good player in time but we are not in a position to play a waiting game. We need to focus on players who can come straight in an improve the first 13.
