Exactly, if he was interested in being lavished with the credit then he could easily put himself in the spotlight like some other men love to do.
From what I've heard of him he sounds like he enjoys nothing more than the players and coaches taking the credit.

| Friday night I thanked him for 'saving the club' and proposed moves to elland road , he replied that putting money in was the easy part compared to turning round the business side.
Which didn't sound as hands off as appears. or just being in it for the rugby union as was sometimes said.
It was dark in 96,97 but thankfully we built upwards rather than the quick fix of koukash.

| It tells you a story of how he prefers to stay out of the spotlight when you still have quite a few people from other clubs who actually think GH is the owner.

| I think Fans are aware of his huge input and whenever you see him around HQ although very approachable he is some what uncomfortable if you heap praise on him for his ownership.
I think putting the ££££ in to save us aside his biggest and best act was getting and keeping GH it's the perfect Owner/CEO partnership whereas that gobsh##e with a few nags isn't worth having to clean the bogs!

| Many years ago, in the Wigan board room at a Wigan V Leeds game, I had the good fortune to have an extended chat with Mr Caddick and found him to be both a nice chap and very passionate about the Rhinos. I give him tremendous credit for how well our team has performed and for the strength of the overall business. Together with GH they have built a very slick operation.

Caddick has never put any money into the RL - he guaranteed the overdraft. The fine state it is in now is down to its trading success not its owner ploughing money in.

Indeed - although there are inter-company loans on the balance sheet of both the Union and League side which relate to Caddick Group so some money has clearly been shifted around even if just for accounting (and probably tax) purposes.

| Watching the Leeds United game (and pretty much everything that's happened there over the last decade) and even more thankful for who we have running the Rhinos ship over the same period compared to the dodgy Italian who makes even Koukash seem half decent.

The Leeds United saga is an embarrassment to sport

Caddick and GH have undoubtedly delivered the goods for us.
Contrast that with former FC player Tim Wilby who was playing the game at the same time as was our own GH and who went on hold hold the Chief Exec's post there too

| Oh the stories, rumours and allegations that went around Hull during the Tim Wilby/David Lloyd era.
Wilby was basically meant to be the link (as an ex-player) between Lloyd's money and the fans/club. He was a bit flash off the field, always with the sharp suits and the nice cars.
Unfortunately he had all the grace and people skills of a chimpanzee with a brain injury.
Made me laugh when FC fans complained about Kath Hetherington's running of the club, considering some of the clowns who both preceded and succeeded her.

| Tim Wilby has led, and continues to lead, a most extraordinary life. It's not one I'd have chosen for myself, but my god he has some stories...

The former Hull FC player was also a former Leeds RLFC player having (IIRC) started out his career at Headingley before moving over to the Boulevard.
Not sure whether Wilby and Hetherington ever played in the same Leeds team without checking but it's not altogether beyond a possibility.

Thanks TVOC. I was beginning to think it must have been a different player for all reference I could find online to his having played for us. I believe I have his autograph somewhere.
