| Why would you take it out of Leeds? It doesn't make business sense, we'd lose a good percentage of the revenue.

| Just a thought! If we want to expand our brand past LS6 it may be an idea to take the game to the capital

| if the game wants this concept to be taken seriously it has to be more than a glorified friendly at the SL clubs home ground.

| While it's laudable to talk about taking the game to places like the US or Dubai for example to help spread the game, the issue with that is the timing. It falls during the SL regular season, but in the NRL pre-season in its current spot on the calendar.
So you'd be potentially asking the SL side to play a league fixture, travel, acclimatise, play the WCC and then come back for another regular season game within the space of say 12 days. Meanwhile the NRL side can schedule the trip however it wants, because it doesn't have league fixtures to plan it around.
You've then got the revenue question, of where is the game likely to make the most money for the competing clubs. Unless a third party sponsor suddenly comes up with silly money to play in another venue, unfortunately the place where the game will get the biggest crowd and make the most money is unfortunately Leeds.

| A bit of marketing building it up as the quadruple, and we'd get 30,000 plus at Elland Road. Don't like the WCC at HQ. Doesn't feel like a 'final'

| All depends on the money. We need the cash to rebuild HQ.
Taking it to London is a definite no go. The only way it'd possibly work is as a Triple Header with the other 2 games.
I can't see a particular benefit to taking it to Manchester or away from Leeds. Despite getting good crowds for an RL team, it's not like we've saturated the market in Leeds or its surrounding areas and we can still appeal to those people. They're more likely to come back as well.

| You could replace the magic weekend with a new version with all three matches played at the same venue on the same day. This would have the benefit of reducing the unnecessary extra league fixture.

Elland Rd is a terrible ground - 3/4 of which is close to derelict - if we want to use a stadium of that standard might as well stay at Headingley

| It was a great atmosphere for the last two played at Headingley and is guaranteed to be full to the rafters. Can't really see why anyone would want it played elsewhere.

Agree with this.
If it's a toss up between Elland Road & HQ it's HQ every day of the week.

Because it can be bigger than that. RL constantly complains that it doesn't get profile or sponsors or media talking about it. Getting half as many to watch the WCC than we did a decade ago is one of the reasons why.
How are we supposed to convince people that the WCC isn't just a cash grab, that it is a worthwhile competition if we treat it like a cash grab played at a home ground sponsored by a dodgy financial services company?
2005 nearly 40000 people watched a WCC involving leeds, only RL would look at 20k at Headingley in 2016 as success.
