| Quote: Ferdy "Webb has always been a liability in defence with his eyebrow tackle technique. However what is pleasing this year with Webb is his attacking game has improved I think and he again looks dangerous in attack. Without watching it back on sky from the ground the coming into the line looked more successful and not passing forward'"
Webb can only pass forward! In his defence though, the penalty he gave away in the tackle with Blyth & Westwood came about from an attempted elbow drop from Westwood. Should have been a penalty to Leeds for the elbow IMO. I wonder whether Westwood will be cited?

Should have had a penalty before the elbow drop for the hand in the face IMO.

Webb in constantly one of our best links in attack.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, in the danger-zone Webb is our best player at picking out the play with a delight of variations of distribution, which lead to alot of our trys.
How many times will we see this season Webb on the end of the second or thid pass from the PTB, to find Watkins in space, who will either score himself or put BJB away? Get counting.

Your right. Webb has always been a bit defensive liability going for the Barrie mac technique of "they can't run without their heads" he has always been a bit niggly and sometimes gives stupid penalties. He is like a little 10 man and always had aggression in his game.
For me though he has been always good in attack but he seems like he is back to somewhere near 2007 form in attack, just seems to be running with more purpose and aggression.
Agree though everytime he came into the line passing to Watkins we looked dangerous

| Webb has always been abit of liability discipline wise.
It's just the way things are. Remember the bulls game at eatser in 2007 when he was sinbinned twice for high shots?
It's just a trade off for the great things in attack bloodbath mentions above.
He does alot more good than negative, and his kick returns so far this season have had serious interest.

| The difficult conditions prevented a classic but a good win by Leeds who took the game to Warrington from the start. I can see why Burrow got the MOM as he was a constant threat has been a major contributor to our success so far this season. But I thought Sinfield just shaded MOM with a superb allround display. He exerted control throughout with sound defence, his place kicking was immaculate as usual and two of his out of hand kicks led to tries.
Big effort again from Delaney with JP & Leuluai the most effective props. Webb is coming into the line with pace, McGuire has got his sharpenss back and is defending well and our young centres are growing in stature every week. The whole side is playing with a buzz and sharpness and looking confident. If we can keep this form for when the grounds get firmer we should chalk up some big scores.

| Was going to raise the point about Webb, the silly penalties could prove to be really costly, and his letting the ball bounce was criminal, although credit to a good kick in difficult conditions. However there isn't another fullback at the club who brings to our attack what he does, last night showed that.

| McGuire was superb again. Watkins 2nd and Sinny 3rd IMO. Good game, as has been said not a classic but that's three pretty decent games we've had at HQ this year already.

| Too many errors to be considered a classic but a good hard game and I enjoyed it.
I can't believe the stick Webb gets. he's one of our most crucial players. It's like fans shut their eyes for 79 mins and only open them when there's an error.
I thought McGuire looked very good again and agree with all the shouts for players on this thread. However, can't believe nobody has mentioned Ablett. 70 monumental minutes. He's a rock and is becomng leader of the pack in JJBs absence.
I thought JP looked off the pace. Not fully fit?

Is this good start to the season by Leeds a cause for concern?
I'm more impressed by St Helens form at this stage of the season.

Pessimist The team is just getting going......a young team growing in stature who will peak at the season's end as usual. I fancy the CC, Leader's Shield AND another GF this season
McShane especially hasn't got anywhere near his peak yet.

I agree with all said so far (Webb and McGuire looking sharp; Sinfield in control and his kicking is so damn important; Lleulai looking his best destructive go forward)....but especially your comments (ugghh ). Ablett is looking awesome in the LF role. Ahem !
Peacock is begining to show his age I guess.
