| Quote: mick3160 "The Kiwis lacked discipline. Agree that Luke should get five games. High tackles and a few digs at Chase, especially from Marshall. Apparently they went to the same school.'"
The Kiwis should be and are better than that !! They did lack discipline the England players showed great restraint
The Luke incident was one of the most shocking things I have seen in over forty years of watch rugby league
Why is it that the Video Ref cant whisper in the ear of the on field Ref to let him know what went on if the touchjudges and Ref missed it in live time

| What I didn't get about the Luke incident was that he was penalised for twisting his knee in the tackle - i.e there was no "allegedly" about it, no suggestion that they might have been mistaken, so how on earth was he allowed to stay on the field. Really, really poor officiating. The guy tried to injure Chase who was defenceless in a pre-meditated and calculated way, yet we see players get sent off for instinctive high tackles at times.

| Sh#*-House pure and simple and the other cheap shots aimed at our boys just gladly back-fired because we remained composed and let the Rugby do the talking.

| He`s been doing that sort of thin for years. The cocky little sh$t deserves to be smashed beyond sight one of these days hopefully.

| He was laughing and all smug afterwards too. Hope he gets a big ban which gets rid of his smug face.

Clearly you didn't see the Leeds Vs Auckland game from the mid-80s .... That wasn't a game, it was war on a rugby field.

Ditto the GB vs Auckland game from the same tour. That team brought another level of Biff, even for those days. There's some footage of it on the video site.
Leeds vs. Auckland was Schoey's debut, iirc. They should have waited a week. Remember the Rayne twins, who weren't normally dirty players, giving as good as they got that game too.
As for Luke: house, plain and simple. A poor man's Brendan Tuuta.

| And what's the point of placing such an incident on report?
Instead, I would suggest that if the officials on the pitch are unclear of what went on they should be able to refer it to the video ref for an instant decision. Then the team which has been on the receiving end of the foul would get the benefit of the sin-binning or sending off.

| The officials should also be made to account for their decisions on the field as to why they did not send Luke off. If the game is too big for them then they should not be out there.

Fletcher: Course, he sees 'imself as an authority on curry, he does, on account of where he was stationed in the army.
Rudge: Where? India?
Fletcher: No, Bradford.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_40413.jpg |

Jeez I remember that game well! Abiding memories are Schiey getting carried off after he was ankle tapped on his way to what would of been his hat trick on debut. A mass brawl in front if the SS and Auckland being sponsored rather curiously by southern fried chicken!!! Happy days!

| Haven't seen a ref so far out of his comfort zone since Terry Halibut first arrived in Superleague.
Some of the stuff he missed at (and imo after) the play the ball made Bentham's performance in the first game look inspired. Head shots, forward passes, offsides frequently went unpunished. A truly aweful performance!

| If players are allowed to get away with such inexcusable acts then I agree with others...the ref should be put on report too. What possible reason is there for 'forgiving' such a malicious calculated act ? The ref was informed and should not have hesitated to dismiss the guy.
The elbow into Tomkins was bad enough from their no.13....Luke's act will take some beating for the worst sheer cowardly thuggery I've seen for a long time.
