Just on the 'marquee money'. There is no marquee money, it's just slotting someone into that spot to save some cash.

Prior may well come in as the 'marquee' player depending on what Leeds do. Let's not get hung up on this.

What the club need to do is bring in the best players we can, let the money men decide which player is best to be the 'marquee'.

We need at least one prop and we need an infield leader.

It's a big set back. Merrin was comfortably our best player last year even though he had a lot going on off the field which must have had an effect on his performances at times. I was quite looking forward to seeing him at full tilt this year.. he would have had a top season imo

On to Merrin he’s a family man and that is truly the centre of most people’s decision making core so I can’t blame him. You can have the best intentions and try to make round pegs fit in square holes to try and make it work for all concerned but at the end of the day those guys must come first. We’ll be fine without him.

Agreed re Merrin he was a good player but he is the past so no longer relevant. Use the Cap available wisely there are plenty of hungry players who would jump to join us both at home and in Oz/NZ

I had no reason to believe the lad in question was lying about what Merrin had told him. What a $hit move telling some random bloke buying your settee, before the club have even announced it. Really thought he could have been the cornerstone of our pack, and bring the younger lads through, but glad he’s gone now. Is GH losing his touch, as we seem to be getting burnt quite a bit lately?
