Agree we need to give youth a chance, but at some stage they need to take that chance (or come close to doing so) and quite simply Smith hasn't. We also see the other side of having faith in a player in Sutcliffe, who makes the 17 week in week out without inspiring anybody. For me, use of what we have is as important as the cull we have seen from Sinny and GH, and if Sutcliffe keeps getting chance after chance this season it will take the gloss off a lot of the positive work that's gone in.

Given our other weaknesses, I don’t think we were ever really in for Sezer. Much smarter (if risky) signing Gale, and looking to use our quota spots on the pack.

Agreed, if gale us fully fit and fireing its a shrewd signing, but a risk after bad injury like watkins, but Gale is a huge confident cocky halfback not delicate mentally like Watkins. Watkins lack of mental strength stopped him being the best centre in the super league era. Gale mental strength despite a lack of more natural talent makes in best halfback of the last 5 years.

I agree I don't think we were ever really in for Sezer the pack was priority .Merrin is a big problem do we play hard ball until a replacement is found and if we cannot find one do we then risk having a very expensive unhappy player?

Really? I'd say Gale is every bit as capable of going into his shell as Kallum was. I worry more about that than I do his fitness tbh.
