| The only genuinely awful tackle we've had this year's was Tetevano on Hurrell. A few more probably deserved suspensions (notably one of Prior's). Some of the others have been nonsensical, especially on Martin, who is about as clean a player as you'll see, who got suspended once for a completely laughable push on a Salford player at walking pace that would never have hurt the opponent in a million years, and once for incidental high contact which should have been a warning but nothing more.
I completely disagree with Welsby's tackle being somehow a good one. He had zero control over the impact and left his opponent with a bloodied face. It could easily have had no head contact or something much worse, and that's the point, Welsby had no control over what happened with the way he ran in.

| Shows how ridiculous MRP is. Was a great game with full commitment from both sides but I didnt see anything worthy of a ban from players from either side. Ironie that Knowles cops a ban for nothing after getting away with a dead cert offence.
Don"t think if affected the overall result though. Respect to James Roby the greatest hooker of the superleague era. I am Leeds through and through but one of my favourite ever players!

One of your academy players made tackle like Welsbys on Sunday did anyone moan ? No everyone nearby said what a great tackle it was

Knowles is lucky he didn’t get picked up for two shoulder charges either.
The irony over on the social media sites is bordering on hilarious over the Martin tackle on Lomax. Many are the same names that applauded Welsby’s shot only last week, yet they want a four match ban for Martin’s 'near neck breaker'.
At no point were his legs above the horizontal position, and I’m almost certain Moore wasn’t going to blow up until Welsby and that cockney idiot ran in carrying on.'"
You sure about that.

| At no point was his neck pushed beyond a normal range of movement or put in a dangerous position.

Not questioning that, if you read the post I was quoting it states At no point were his legs above the horizontal position. I'll leave it for others to decide if that's a dangerous position or not.

| Yeh the wording probably needs changing on that one to be more about how a player lands. That’s the dangerous part.

| If the intention is to prevent neck and spinal risk, it should be body above horizontal, legs don’t really affect it.

I’m trying to work out whether this is a joke or not? It’s mad.

Why is it mad? I could fall flat on my and be fine but my feet could be above my head. If you think it's mad, probably best to explain why, or, well, you look mad?

| I think in terms of tackling technic there will be many more occasions where the hips are above the head.
If a players legs are on the ground you can't physically spear or tip tackle them.
Lifting the legs is where the issue comes I. As it maybe fine bit it can easily go wrong as other players in the tackle and the tackled player themselves cant then control the tackle with forces moving in many different directions.
I think the refs have a duty here as if motion is stopped, the call for held should be quicker.
There are many times were the motion is stopped and whilst the players continue to wrestle no held is called, resulting in very late offloading or tacklers continuing to wrestle or lift in an attempt to complete the tackle.
For me if forward motion is stopped then that should be held.

He's going to get injured, but yes, being clever and knowing when to stay down is a sport-wide problem, not specific to any one player or team. He didn't do that in the Martin incident though, he got hammered there, he's going to need a moment to collect his thoughts after that isn't he.
What Makinson did was a bit of a weird one I agree, but it's not dangerous. I'm sure there was no attempt to detach it.
Unbelievable. You must be the number one apologist on this forum.

| I found the whole day disappointing. no atmosphere outside, no act on before the start.
I found it all subdued compared to every other time I've been
