Boyd from the Titans been mentioned & although the timing isnt ideal the NRL clubs will starting cutting their squads in late Jan early Feb so msybe some qyslity to become available then their transfer market hasnt even got going yet.

I would say Merrin is nowhere near world class, slightly underwhelmed with him TBH. I'm not seeing what the coaching staff are seeing in Cam Smith either. Hope Dom Crosby can get,and stay fit too

Merrin is a far better option than Prior,and absolutely no chance of Boyd coming over,Holbrook has stated in last few days he’s going nowhere

I think a lot of fans are ready to give up on our young homegrown players too soon. This signing average players on Marquee thing, is NOT how we are going to challenge again .......

There is giving up and then there is giving too many chances. With Kev clearing out the deadwood, spending is necessary and the marquee rule doesn’t just bring in quality, it’s the extras like publicity and sponsors. We as a club can not afford another bad year. I think Walters should be ahead of Cam Smith, he would be playing reserves for me.

Is it me or did Agar (quite rightly) sounded a bit ed off with Merrin in that interview ?

He sounded a bit Aussie but joking apart yes maybe. I just hope Agar stands by what he said unless we get adequate cover and replacements coming we will not leave ourselves exposed.

He sounded vexed. He'll be fuming. And quite rightly. Leaves us with Merrin yet again unsettled. I'm very concerned about our pre season so far..

Agree we need a better year. We can forget about sponsors etc unless we start offering an entertaining and successful product.
Everything follows from there. We’ve signed a lot of people over past few years, for very little reward .
Think we should have trusted our home grown products bit more.....

Agree we need to give youth a chance, but at some stage they need to take that chance (or come close to doing so) and quite simply Smith hasn't. We also see the other side of having faith in a player in Sutcliffe, who makes the 17 week in week out without inspiring anybody. For me, use of what we have is as important as the cull we have seen from Sinny and GH, and if Sutcliffe keeps getting chance after chance this season it will take the gloss off a lot of the positive work that's gone in.
