I completely agree. Let’s not forget Crosby and Ward will HOPEFULLY be like new signings. Faith needs to be put into Cameron Smith, I don’t think Sutcliffe is as bad as some on here think either. We look really light in the backs, and the way we treated Golding was a disgrace.......

I understand that Prior was never going to be the Marquee player as Merrin was staying, if he goes (understand we will know more tomorrow) then another spot is available to replace Merrin and also a Marquee spot.

Shannon Boyd, reading between the lines. Enough cap space,Club has good links with GCT. GCT want him off the cap and are willing to pay part of his wages. He’s willing to come to Super League, nothing been confirmed as of yet. I’d be happy with that.

Cam Smith is dross. He needs to step up big time. Reminds me of Singleton. A smattering of good games in-between lots of rubbish.

What are you so obsessed with Cam Smith for? He has had plenty of chances to become a decent player and he just lacks. He should not be in the starting line up at all.

To me Cam Smith does not look physical enough. Will he be able to break tackles and really rattle people in defense? Hopefully, but maybe he's just developed too early.

As for Merrin, I'm glad the club are taking that stance. He is (or at least has been) world class, so should be replaced with equal caliber. Unless that's sorted, he needs to honour his contract. The clubs been very fair to him either way.

As for captain if he goes, I can see us using one of those 5 man leadership systems, which is a bit of a gimmick, but allows us not to have to pick one who wouldn't suit it or be too injury prone.

Boyd would be good, but that leaves us short at 13.
