| Quote: christopher "I think it is mathematically possible as I dont think catalan or Castleford play each other, so if they both lose all their remaining games, same for Salford and we win all ours we make 5th - it’s utter fantasy land though and isn’t going to happen'"
Even if by some miracle it did, there's zero evidence we have a team good enough to negotiate play offs and a grand final.
Yes, we did it a couple of times before but with a nucleus that had already won multiple grand finals. We're currently watching a side that seems to have just enough about it to avoid relegation with a game or two to spare.
That said, I do hold a modicum of optimism for next year.

I agree, part of me actually wants Saints to play a full strong side on Thursday as it will be a good test of where we actually are.

| We will finish 8th, get the idea of finishing 5th out of your head, we have had a terrible season and deserve nowt, the rugby that has been served up this year has been rubbish. This year I will be glad when I get to the last game on my season ticket

Yep.
And i wonder how many with those same feelings will be renewing next year? Decisions made in the next few weeks- months will likely determine that. 2 seasons of mostly dross product on the field now; 3 out of the last 4.

I think alot will depend on how we finish, if we finish strongly the fans might have a bit of optimism that we’ve turned a corner

| The fool and his money are easily parted. Let’s not forget that Yorkshire people have deep pockets, trust me they will need to convince me that buying season tickets for next year represents money well spent. I bet they won’t increase any prices.

| I've had a season ticket for over 30 years and have seen some right dross served up and very little worse than this year. I'll have no hesitation in renewing my season ticket for next year as I'm a Leeds fan and always will be

| Leeds lurch
I also have been a season ticket holder for around the same length of time.
I now believe that blindly renewing season tickets regardless of what crap hetherington serves up is foolishness.
The recent upturn in better quality replacements happened because of the response from the fans.
We pay the bills and unless we are competing next year for trophies, I for one will pick my matches and take advantage of the near half price offers others are getting now.

One sure fire to help the team compete for trophies again is by contributing to less revenue. Bravo.
I've been supporting them for 80 years blah blah blah.

| "Loyal" fans threatening not to renew make me laugh.
FWIW I've actually really enjoyed parts of this season. Less glory supporting hangers on and, in the past couple of months, some genuinely memorable away wins.

| I agree Ghost. The atmosphere at Cas and Hidds away games was something else. The reaction of the players when we win away is better than its ever been.
Weve no divine right to win every week. If any set of fans in Super League that should stick by the club its should be ours given the incredible success weve had since 2004. A couple of bad seasons and "fans" dont want to renew. Imagine how fans of Wakey and Salford go on when they've never seen their team do anything.

Absolutely, I'd add the one at Wakey as well. I remember getting totally soaked and loving it, partly because of the reaction of the players when they won.
When the club eventually gets back to the top being through the tougher times will all make it worth it. Our "loyal" friends will return at that point no doubt and my opinion of them will be even lower.

| A good end to the season would be nice. But if we want the club to keep moving forward they need to remember how close we have come to disaster again.
