| Having the easy run for a change.
Other 3 are very close to call. Cas away to Hull is a big ask for them too considering they lost there recently with a man advantage for 60 mins.
Wire/Wigan depends really on what shape Wigan are in injury wise by the time of the game and great opportunity to either Salford or Wakey to get a semi final spot.

Can't imagine it'd achieve much unless they were going to get more games imminently. How long would the experience stay with the youngsters and how long would their performances remain in the minds of the coaches? To my mind better to rehe a few moves and improve cohesion between some of the players that will have important roles to play.

To be fair, Barrow are CC1 and the dual reg lads are getting better experience than this week on week anyway playing in the Championship. Would it impress you to see them tearing up Barrow at home anyway, it wouldn't mean they could hack SL just because they were doing it in a Leeds shirt would it?

In a couple of weeks the coach will be moaning about too many games in a short period. To add to that we have another cup round that a lot of other super league sides don't have and have week off. To add to that, we at supposedly in transition, and about to seperate from further established players for next season. Surely you need players ready, if not fully physically, definitely mentally? We had an opportunity to aid the medium to long term so much. That score line today was always going to happen, it was a division one team.

Surely the mental preparation for a cup tie is far greater? A much better experience to learn. So yes, I would have rather seen how they react to the pressure, than a training session for established players.

| Personally think hes made the right call, cas are obviously the best side in the comp at the minute and getting some cohesion going into that game is their best opportunity to get a performance that would raise and consolidate some confidence. Whos to say how they will perform but if they came up with a Huddersfield type performance on the back of resting players the doncaster experience would no doubt be highlighted.

| I can see both sides. however I think the older players.
, if only a couple, should have been given a rest

| The only ones i could really think of giving a rest would be JJB and maybe hall, not your pivots for obvious reasons and golding is young anyway and missed a few. from the forwards galloways already missed loads, ferres just coming back, certainly not ward or singleton. Also liam Sutcliffe needs time in the centres as it looks like thatll be his role this season and the next in line in the case of injuries is handley so he no doubt benefitted.

I do see your point but i don't think it's something to get hung up about.
i would much rather see these fringe lads get game time against weaker SL teams when the chance presents itself though to see if they can hack it than virtual walkovers like this today.

| Some fair points above, but Mac spelled out his decisions last week. Better the fringe players get some guaranteed game time than waiting for injuries that would get them first team action. We need some game time with the best players available to take on a Castleford side that are the best team in the competition at the moment. Looks like we've come through unscathed. All in all, looking as good as it could.

| Once we picked mainly first choice players we should have spent as much time as possible trying to run through moves - e.g. try to get Hall/Briscoe into positions to score at the expense of simple gaps for someone near the PTB to get on the teamsheet. Otherwise you might as well pick youngsters and give them the experience.
