Well he should do now even if he didn't before.
Hood was holding up the number 9 and McShane left the field at the Stobart Stadium (or whatever it's called this week) so the system was in full working order.

| Quote: Tyke's/Rhinos No. 1 Fan "Today we had a side who didn't want to get injured before the playoffs, and knew that, no matter what the result, they were finishing 5th, a point brutally brought home by the injury to Kirke. JP was the best forward on the park by a mile, but without Kirke & Delaney, the workload on Kylie, Ablett, JJB & Griffin increased a lot. This wasn't helped by a dismal defensive performance down the right by Watkins and, most of all, Ben-Jones Bishop. His defence, in-goal for George's try, or in play for the many Huddersfield breaks down their left, was appalling.
There are players (e.g. Scott Taylor) available who could make a big difference, and the signing of Mitch Achurch is a real positive for us. However, it's become clear that Moore (seemingly frozen out) and Hauraki (clearly not good enough) need to move to pastures new. Additionally, it's clear that some of the ickle kidies (Hood) aren't ready, and need to spend time playing regular open-age rugby. The rumoured loan of Hood, Briscoe, Olds & Keinhorst to Hunslet would, IMO, be beneficial for all parties.'"
Agree with main points here, it has become obvious that teams are attacking our right side, Watkins and BJB do seem to stand off and back track off tackles, whilst keinhorst and Hall have had a more forward push, occasionally over keen but puts pressure on defence. One focus of a defensive line needs to happen so the team can trust any players next to them. Our pack rotation as many have said appears to be odd at times and we need to manage this better or if we lack the fire power we need to add to the pack this off season.
There does appear to be some political games in the backroom, Webb, Bailey and Moore not playing recently (Webb as gone now I know). However as a player you need to remember your a team and you have a coach / boss who you need to buy into, otherwise it puts strain on all the team regardless of the reasons.
I think Keinhorst and Hood / McShane can certainly come up to scratch and Leeds should stick with them as we have done with Ablett, BJB, Watkins and Ward, only playing in the SL games will make them ready and develop them to where we need them to be.

| What Leeds wouldn't give for a Brough type of half-back right now. Not Brough obviously (that would be hideous) but a player possessing his type of game.

| people have said we are poor down watkins side in defence which i agree a little but to me he is not always to blame, for me sinnys defence is very poor which means watkins has to come in and help out i would love to go through the season and see how many tries have come from sinny missing a tackle.

| Sinfield should be defending closer to the middle as out wide it exposes his lack of pace more, this is part of the issue when playing him at 6. We should be playing McGuire at 6, Burrow at 7 and Sinfield at 13, when they are all fit.

| Watkins is making 20+ tackles a match defending as a second row because our entire defensive line is unbalanced by how we use our hooker.
It's been mentioned here before that if we were an NRL side there would be reams of playbook training sets designed specifically to manipulate the ball to Watkins fresh and in half a yard of space, rather than overworking him in defence and tossing him the ball at random two or three times a match.

That's very true but luckily for our right side defence Burrow defends on the left, which yesterday was unlucky for Keinhorst as he was called on to make or at least attempt to make 40+ tackles.

That's not correct should Catalans beat Wigan...in that scenario (and if we made it past Wakefield) we would go to the loser of Warrington v St Helens

Either way not confident.
TBH I am not looking past Wakey. In a good run of form, we are not and they are capable of beating us on the day.

Yes, but part of BOTH centres' increased workload is down to the absence of the extra defender in the middle squeezing them both in, rather than just which of them the hooker stands outside.

| I don't think we're at odds here. Over-loading the inexperienced Keinhorst/Burrow combination was a no brainer as it would also lesson the threat posed by Burrow out of acting half once Hood had played his debut starting cameo.
How desperate must the CEO have been to secure a starting hooker when he knew he'd be unavailable in potentially key matches down the line. An admission of 'oops I've f[i**ke[/id up here' in releasing Diskin then Buderus without confidence in the line of succession... perhaps.
