The last Leeds player to score a hat-trick V Castleford was Jordan Tansey a year ago today (happy birthday dad BTW.) The hat-trick player before Tansey was Scott Donald in the loss at Wheldon Road after the WCC success also in 2008. The hat-trick player before Tansey and Donald was Chev Walker (March 2006) and I guess that's where you were heading.

Leeds with Ben Thaler this season have played four won four and incredibly won all four penalty counts as well.

Mmm-hmmm, so the question should be, can we actually draw too much from a game that was refereed almost 2008-style when we know that the other referees won't let it flow so fast? Thaler & Leeds are a perfect match - not that he's biased but like you say, his approach suits us, he's like Phil Bentham's uncorrupted mirror image.

A potential concern as he's yet to be awarded a single play off fixture. Hopefully under the new expanded format he'll get a run.

If we concentrate on defending and playing the way we know we can it shouldn't be a problem who the ref is!

The referee is the in-game coach and although it shouldn't matter who it is it actually does matter because of the inconsistencies between them. Something going full time was supposed to address (and perhaps it's helped) but there's a way still to go.

Thaler four games - four won penalty counts, in a season of losing the majority of counts. That can't be a coincidence, can it?

I agree mate but it doesn't look like changing anytime soon so we have to "rise" above it.
We did that last night there were things in that game that in others have been penalised(for both teams) but the players got on with it and let the rugby do the talking and that's the best way to go imo because it aint gonna change.

That was certainly the most consistent I've seen Leeds play all season. Bluey said the run in started this week. Well boy what a start to a run in.

A great team performance. I thought Senior was awesome and deserving of the MOM, but I guess 5 trys Hall was always going to get it. Thought Ratu took his try well.
