Would be a shame to lose Trout but our need for a hooker is much bigger than our need for a 2nd row prospect right now.

Tbh 2nd row is the one area we have a lot of options with Martin, ward, mellor, Smith, sutty, Donaldson before you even get into the prospect side.

With Martin, Ward and Mellor (and Merrin for a while), we have a pretty senior and decent back row in theory.

I do like Trout but then we also have Walters, Gibbons, Edwards and others coming up through the system.

I guess the club must know what its doing.

I agree I think the club knows
what they are doing and as you say in those three we have potentially a back row for a few years.From what I've been told the coaching team see Walters as a player who is also going to make that step up.

Am not as convinced the club knows best based on the last few years, considering we spent over cap too! But this is a sensible deal as we’re desperate for a good hooker.

I have said this loads now, I hate the way the Aussies do this. He has committed now after we gave him the chance, so at any point he goes now we should command a huge fee because at the end of the day who are we going to target? He is our Captain, the gel that holds things together so why should we just release him now. I damn well hope this is all bulls**t.

No probs with your post bud. That's what this forum is for. A lot of stories are rumours and often theres no smoke without fire. Looking at their social media Trent and his mrs seem settled but obviously that can change. It all needs a line drawn under this very quickly. Aussie media are a disgrace though

If Trent did go now however it would be extremely poor on his part and Leeds should make every penny they can from him

Like I say mate, I really hope it’s wrong, but my pal was convinced, and he’s not even into RL. After the Seggy incident, I don’t trust any of the overseas players not to pull that stunt anymore.
I certainly wouldn’t be releasing him until a huge offer comes in as way of compensation. Knowing the club these days though, we’ll probably let him go for nothing.
