| That would be a shame, we shouldn’t be losing a good promising youngster for Leeming. There were other hooking options.

| Guess if it was the only way to get the deal done, its probably a good deal for both clubs. We get a young, exciting hooker with loads of natural ability that dosnt take any quota places and strengthens our first 17 straight away. Giants get a big, young England Academy second row to add to there impressive group of young players.

| Dont agree with this swop at all Trout imo is better than both Sutcliffes Cam Smith & will be at least 4x the player Donaldson is.

| Huddersfield wanted Trout earlier on in 2019 when Leeds wanted Leeming but we didn’t want to let him go at that time. The club must have seen something to be able to say he can leave now with two years left on his contract.

| I like Trout but Walters is the the one with the xfactor out of our young second rows.

I agree with that. Not convinced Trout will be a big hit, certainly way behind Walters, but just not convinced Leeming solves anything for us.

Yep...several people on social media saying that Leeming is a great signing. Like you, I’m not convinced by him. Hope he turns out to be a brilliant/astute signing but from whenever I’ve watched Giants live, I remain to be convinced he’s anything special.
This falls into the category of a ‘project’ signing for me as opposed to say bringing in the finished article like say a Daryl Clark

| It’s a tough one is this, as much as I don’t really agree with it, deals have to made and if Leemingbis the target and the Giaints want Trout then that’s it. The lad has real potential but he will be waiting a while here and I see Walters and others as bigger prospects, so that softens it.

| Trout looks a good prospect, but good prospects don't always equate to the real deal. Maybe the club just have not seen enough progress, not impressed on loan at Dewsbury, and maybe think we have better in Walters Alex Sutcliffe and others.
Or i suspect this may be a cash + long term loan for a year or two with Leeds have first dibs on him he he goes well in Super League at the Giants. Great deal for all parties, Leeds get to see if he cuts the mustard in super league, player gets to test himself, Giants get a great young prospect for a year or two and some hard cash for Leeming.

| Would be a shame to lose Trout but our need for a hooker is much bigger than our need for a 2nd row prospect right now.
Tbh 2nd row is the one area we have a lot of options with Martin, ward, mellor, Smith, sutty, Donaldson before you even get into the prospect side.

With Martin, Ward and Mellor (and Merrin for a while), we have a pretty senior and decent back row in theory.
I do like Trout but then we also have Walters, Gibbons, Edwards and others coming up through the system.
I guess the club must know what its doing.
