| Lee Crooks didnt want to leave Hull, we all know that. Its easy to talk about him boozing but im sure his business went under and his marriage collapsed around the same time as signing for Leeds.
Lee Crooks was a true world class player, tough, great ball handler, great kicker, he had everything. While people write off his Leeds career he had some magnificent games for us despite not been happy. I remember a game at Wigan when he was absolutely phenomenal over at Central Park. The Yorkshire Cup Final v Cas when imo he was the best player on the park that day. On his day he was fantastic.
The best prop ive seen for Leeds tho since 1980 was, of course, JP. He was absolutely incredible. He couldnt have given anymore for Leeds. He was immense every week. A real warrior and we will never see another like him. Just an 80 min machine. We wouldnt have won anywhere near the trophies we won without him.

I think Goodway signed from Oldham.

wane ? '"You'd be hard pushed to find who was less impressed at being transferred to Leeds, Wane or Crooks. In fact Wane pretty much replaced Crooks in the squad. Not a master stroke.

| Slightly off topic but I have to say that the way Kev is focusing on the culture at the club has to be applauded.
We might need one or two mavericks to take us up a level but this side seems committed and hard working.
Looking back it’s easy to see turmoil and issues at Leeds. Craig Innes wasn’t too complimentary about his transition from RU and that was before RU was fully professional...

Oldham were a target as well, we got Ray Ashton, Hugh Waddell, Wigan got Andy Goodway, Mike Ford

Goodway was a funny one seem to remember he was coming back from a bad arm break all but ready to retire and was persuaded to not retire and sign for us and see how it went. Didn’t work out, but we did the same with Gary Connolly and that went well. Gregory was past it but we needed a 7 desperately after Goulding was sacked.

He was great for 3-4 years and probably the best prop in the world at one point but then declined rapidly.

| as a Wigan fan i would say Jamie Peacock hands down, and certainly a player i would have loved at Wigan. Could certainly handle himself and play a bit
Kylie Leuluai is one i had a lot of respect for. Turned up week in week out and very rarely took a backwards step. Perhaps didnt get the plaudits of some of the others, and i would say one of the unsung heroes of your successful generation.
Barry Mac, dont really need say much else about him. I like good hard prop forwards, and he fits the bill
