| If they tell him on course there's no penalty and then change their minds at night then how can you disqualify him though? He signed his card with the understanding what he did was ok. He didn't sign the card with the intention of cheating. It was only after the card had been signed that they decided maybe they made a mistake in the 1st place.

| Quote: Ferdy "I honestly believe the incident wasn't reviewed by the officials at the time, but they have found a handy way to keep the world No 1 in the competition'"
If they had or they hadn't, there are referees following every match who should pick up on it. Look at Dustin Johnson in the sand a couple of years back. If Tiger didnt realise he had made a mistake and the match referee didn't realise either (and lets face it, they should be watching how a player drops the ball) then I think a 2 shot penalty is the correct call.

From the interviews I have seen woods didn't get told on the course it was ok. I really do believe if this had occurred to some other player they would have been DQ.
He best not knock one of my bets out of the running!!! Would not be happy then

I still wouldn't have thought it had been fair, no matter who it was. ATEOTD he did something that he thought was legal. It turned out it wasn't. The referees didn't pick up on it and it wasn't even mentioned on TV, which it normally is if it's that blatant. If he was aware that he had signed a wrong score on his card then fair enough, like say for instance he miscounted and put down a 5 instead of a 6, but he signed for the score he posted and was only made aware of the error after.
His score has been rectified and it is what it should have been after his error. It's not like he has been let off.

For me as in law ignorance is not a defence. And we shall agree to disagree because I think he has been let off, as I say the pannel would have DQ most other players.
I think he needs to invest some of his millions into a rule book. Not the first time he has made error this year

Someone's watching the BBC
I'm just not a fan of anyone getting DQ'd for something as stupid as that. If it had have been picked up on at the time he would have been handed a 2 shot penalty and been in the exact same position as he is now. Human error should be allowed. he has been penalised what he should have been at the time and we should just let them get on with it. I never agree'd with the rule even before they made that amendment. Like I said, if you intentionally cheat, that's fair enough. He didn't though and he has been penalised what he should have been yesterday.
He is Tiger Woods though and people love to hate him. Personally, I look past his personality and indiscretions and know that I want to see his talent as much as possible on the TV, because it's not often you get to see something like what he delivers.

Made the switch from sky.
I don't dislike him that much, and personally after his "indiscretion" I actually liked him a little better.
I don't like the sulking and pouting that goes with him but agree some of his play is special to watch. I think one of my favourite woods performances was in the play off for the us open? Against rock mediate.
What I don't like about this decision is that I am positive most other players would have copped a DQ. I appreciate what you are saying though

I have Sky and BBC on but I'm with BBCs comms, mainly because I can't stand to listen to Mongomerie. He's so full of himself it's unbelievable. Anyone would think he beat Jack's record by 1 the way he goes on.
The way I see his moods and sulkyness is because he's a winner and anything less than perfect isn't good enough. People said the same about James Graham, but that's because he's a winner too. I prefer that attitude over someone who has no drive. It separates the good from the great.

Agree regarding monty. Still mentioning his 2010 Ryder cup team.
Regarding woods being a winner I can see your point, but you chose a bad comparison. Most of the time I have seen graham he is usually a loser
I put his attitude to being ginger!!

| Right, so here we are with 1 round left. Snedeker will take some beating but Cabrerra has been there and done it before. Out of the pack I'd say Kuchar has a good chance and if I was to put money on anyone who isn't -7, it'd be him.
I'm not sure on Tiger. His puttings been off since midway through yesterday and I reckon he'll have to shoot a 68 to have a shot.
I still think -7 is too high for this course. Yesterday I said the leaders tonight would be at -5 and I wasn't far off. I'm saying tomorrow that -5/-6 will win it. It should be an exciting afternoon of golf though and I'm looking forward to it.

| Snedeker is a great putter and with the greens speeding up he must have a good chance - the only question is whether he can take the pressure? The one player I fancy if he can hole some putts is Justin Rose

| Quote: Sal Paradise "Why should he - why didn't the on course rules official or his playing partners point that out to Woods when he took an illegal drop?
This only came to light when a tv viewer point the error out - I suppose he didn't keep the point at which the ball crossed the hazard between himself and the hole?'"
He said in his after round press conference that hr dropped it 2 yards behind on purpose. To me that makes the TV viewer phoning up irrelevant. He broke the rules deliberately.

No he was using a rule that states you have to keep the point at which it crossed the hazard between himself and the hole - you can go as far back as you like in this case. The point it crossed the hazard was when it came off the flag and into the water. As I said before there were rules officials and his playing partners who didn't see anything wrong - to say he deliberately broke rules is unfair and inaccurate.
