| People are allowed different opinions, otherwise it'd be a dull place.
Its the petty arguments, endless fogknitting, one upmanship and gigantic multi-quote threads that annoy me.
I actually like the posters with a negative attitude to the club, not because I agree with them, because I don't, but it provides a sense of balance and realism to the spin and propaganda coming out of the club

Nothing wrong with posting negative opinions or stories, as long as they're true. Let's be honest, there's plenty of them right now!
Posters making (always negative) stories up for their own self gratification is pretty sad though, as is spending more than 15 years using an online persona that wants Leeds to fail in every way possible and who'll argue the sky is green if anyone from the Leeds club claims it's blue.
I'm really going to try harder to ignore certain posters now, even i'm bored of it.

| The great posters of yesteryear were just as capable of mischief-making as today's exponents - better in fact. Main difference was that they took themselves a little less seriously. In this regard WE's strictly old school. Rather his light-hearted drivel (and the occasional intelligent observation) than some of the insult-laden stuff that gets chucked about on an increasingly regular basis.

Back on topic...
It's gone very quiet at HQ over Segeyaro since the CEO arrived home from his annual Oz jollies. Not a sniff of spin, news, opinion, gripes, moans, dummy spits or threats of retribution.
Hopefully, the silence signals a change of approach with the club finally moving on and working towards a Plan B replacement (signing). At least I hope that's what Plan B involves.

But at least the site is not dead like others (Saints is a ghost town). At the end of the day, we are all here to talk RL and first and foremost Leeds RL.
I would suggest these labelled 'great posters' of years gone by have fallen out of love with the game in general or have better things to do with their time these days and aren't as deep into it as they were to bother as much as they 'can't stand the bickering'.
The bickering was always here anyway. I have only been posting since 2012, but used to be a lurker for a fair few years before that and the moaning, whinging and bickering back then was still prevalent. Not saying some good people hdon't bother anymore, but really it's Just another' ahhh, it was so much better back in the day' attitude if you ask me

Spot on.
I know a lot of those who no longer post here, or post far less frequently. They've been growing tired with the game as a whole and what's being served up for several years. So, it's not just a Leeds thing, though for some former regulars on this forum, last season was clearly the final straw.
They follow Leeds Utd more closely instead, or an American Football team, or they simply just moved on with their lives.
I do think the forum is becoming quite intolerant though as a consequence of a small handful of people who haven't grasped what a discussion forum should be all about. Perhaps they need to find a church where they can all nod in agreement with one another whilst sharing communally uncritical adoration, clapping and devotion towards a deity.
We are even witnessing intolerance over rumour and speculation being posted (even on a dedicated rumour thread) without which there would be next to nothing to talk about.

To be called.
The CEO does have previous for not revealing what he's got up his sleeve.
I think we can rule out Segeyaro though whose latest Twitter post ended with the hashtag #lovingthehaters

I don't hate the guy. I think his behaviour and conduction of the whole situation is very poor (and his agent must take plenty of the blame in this too), and is rather insulting towards the club whether intended or not. it doesn't sit well with me that he believes the club should just say 'oh, ok then you don't fancy it now...all the best James' without consequence.
Again, had he not signed the deal and not said he was happy and returning i would not have any issue with the guy whatsoever, and would wish him well for the rest of his career.
Anyway, What is important is that something gets done to stop this happening again in the future, Segeyaro will get his wish we are just waiting on the confirmation.

Spent years loving this game, and could watch matches one afte the other, but after last few years, and especially last year seriously fallen out with it. Had it not been for the kids and spending the time with my Dad, I would not have got a season ticket again for this coming year. And this will be my 35th year as a season ticket holder.
I do however get a lot of free corporate for down at Cas, and enjoy the experience a lot, probably because of the set up, and the style of rugby they play over last couple of years. They certainly don't take for granted their fanbase, which Leeds certainly does, and why wouldn't it considering the difference in numbers. With friends at Warrington and Huddersfield too, I can't deny I take advantage of free days for those too.
I do really enjoy the Junior rugby though, and going through the age groups with my son, having previously been invoived before his birth, hasn't changed my opinion on that level. There is plenty of excellent juniors coming through the system. The Super League club system is where the game has a problem, and where my appetite has decreased.

I feel the same mate. Not just me but my whole family, RL nuts, all feel similar and the enthusiasm has been waning for a good few years now so not just isolated to this poor year for Leeds.
I look forward to the international programme more these days, although my love for Leeds will never cease, i feel SL has major issues ahead regards quality and excitement.

| I used to post on here "back in the day" every now and again, but, purely in my opinion, and as an "outsider" looking in, there is a sense that should you post something to someone's dislike you are jumped all over and criticised straight away. It's not debated, you are just told you are simply wrong and there is nowhere to go with the discussion from there.
With regards RL I do feel I find I'm slowly moving away from Super League. I don't have a season ticket so do pick and choose games but I used to love my Friday nights finishing work with Super League to look forward to whether it be at Headingley, or at home on Sky. I don't get that feeling for Super League anymore, I don't get excited by watching the RL that's played, and there certainly doesn't seem to be the intensity in the game that there once was. To be honest I get far more excited watching my local club Thornhill Trojans in the National Conference than I do watching anything relating to Super League.

| I don't hate Segeyaro. Let's not forget he was a big reason for Leeds staying up and topping the Middle 8s.
While I hoped he would want to stay, I never really believed he would until he signed the new contract with the NRL clause removed.
The events since he has returned to Australia have obviously been disappointing. While it is likely he's genuinely happier in Oz, I suspect his agent has played a huge role in stoking these feelings of homesickness, so both parties can receive more money in the NRL. He's clearly been told to sit tight and say the right things in the media while the inevitability of the situation is dealt with by the respective parties.
I can't comment much on GH's handling of all this without further detail. I hope he was not heavy handed, although it looks like Segeyaro and his agent had drawn a clear line in the sand...
Professional players are surely aware of the implications of signing contracts, especially one in mid-career like Segeyaro. For me this underlines a lack of responsibility and professionalism in the player. While I'm disappointed that GH seems to have removed a back door for him to come back to Leeds, as good as he is, Segeyaro's recent actions suggest he doesn't possess the attitude and leadership qualities Leeds need right now for such a key role model in the team. A not-fully committed Segeyaro could have been quite poisonous to any recovery the team hopes to make in 2017.
Perhaps a solid player can be found to replace him still. Falloon looked decent at times but he also seemed defensively weak on occasion. A solid hooker to be spelled with Burrow coming off the bench could still work out well. I've still a degree of optimism that some regulars will come back into form (e.g. Watkins, Cuthbertson, Moon) and that some of the younger players will take a big step up (e.g Ward, Sutcliffe, Golding, and Lilley). There are never any guarantees in sport! It promises to be an interesting season for Leeds, that's for sure.

| Absolutely hate on Segeyaro.
He came over here, well paid and played some games.
He said he enjoyed it and that he'd like to stay and signed an extension. His Twitter feed was packed with chilling at coffee shops and with players. When Moon went to the Shadwell dad's night out, Segeyaro went with him, and Galloway.
He did not sit in every night watching telly.
Kids and fans idolised him and bought his shirt.
All of a sudden he goes home and cannot be bothered to see out the contract he signed less than a months ago?
Its appalling behaviour.
There a YouTube video of how he was taken in by a family and made to feel at home when he was younger.
Is that, albeit over 3 months, how we treat him when Penrith ditched him?

Pretty much this. His agent has let him down big time IMO. Crazy to sign a 2 year deal, I'm sure if he asked for 1 year only then GH wouldn't turn him down in our circumstances. The threat of not playing for 12 months if Leeds hold his registration is bad, but 2 years out in the wilderness is massive.

| I don't hate any sports personalities as I don't and never will know them enough to hate.
So I can say without emotion getting involved that segeyaro (and sandow and hopefully solomona) should be made to sit out the remainder of his contract unpaid and off the wage bill. He should not be forced back to Leeds, he is not a slave after all but he was happy to sign the contract and take the money so now he has renegaded on that there should be some comeuppance.
The reality of course is that won't happen. We will accept a low ball offer and he will be gone.
Dont hate the player hate the game.

It could be much, much more vicious on here but a lot of people were arguing with their mates. The mods had their hands full on many occasions. I've not seen whole threads and actual posters disappear like they did 7/8 years ago. The biggest difference is that we have no "enemies" anymore to distract us. Bradford fans no longer come on here looking for a bit of verbal. We had a running war with Stains fans for years, usually resulting in an October slap down of epic proportions.
But that's gone. Now threads are derailed by people that clearly deeply dislike each other.

| If somebody said to you "come work for me, you will be nearer your friends and family, the weather is better, the job is better and i will pay you 3 times the salary but you cant work your notice period in your current job i need you to start work tomorrow." How many would decline the offer???
This situation with Segeyaro was always going to arise from the moment he was announced a Leeds player last season. He is too good a player to not be wanted by any NRL team in need of a 9.
Im shocked at how poor GH and McD handled the situation as i have previously said. Speaking so publically and with such anger was unneccassary all Leeds had to say was he isnt due back until Jan 3rd. I think they have created a bit of a mess now. If no deal can be done with an NRL team weve made it harder for Segeyaro to return.
