It's the whole 'homophobic language' debate again really - what is acceptable and unacceptable to one person might be different to another.
To use your analogy, as someone more on the 'SRIW' end of the spectrum I suspect I would disagree with a darn-sight more than some would with what I assume you are implying the 'MNMC' might say. But then, the MNMC probably won't be acting like SRIWs on message boards because they are less inclined to do so.
Different people with different outlooks, on different places on a continuum - not necessarily the exact same individual picking and choosing different positions depending on where they are at that specific time.
