| Quote Bang="Bang"Still early days in the NRL window.
It just takes afew moves here and there to start the chain of events.
Perhaps Prior is the best available currently? Never seen him play so don't know much about him. Well I know nothing about him as I've never seen him play as I just said. Did he play in the 2016 GF? I watched that'"
Yeah he started at prop in the 2016 grand final. Pretty sure he was the joint winner of Cronullas player of the year that season aswel along with Fifita

| My biggest issue with prior on paper at least, is that at 32 he is past his best. We will get two years at most out of him and you never know how a player will settle moving across the world. All of this for big wages.
On the plus side he has lots of experience to pass on to our good young set of forwards coming through and on a two year contract he wouldn't be a long term blocker to them.

| Theres a 17 min video of Priors 2016 season on YTUBE, gives a bit of insight of the type of player he is when near his best. His defence looked outstanding, especially his line speed, good offload and very athletic. Reading Cronullas fans page, they say his defence is still very good but his work with the ball has dropped off.
Like Fallon says, his age is the big worry, on the plus side, he was well ahead of Ava in Cronullas prop rotation last season, if he's as good as Ava here, we'd all take that id assume.

Prior was selected for Origin this year so he must have been playing very well.

| Prior on a 2yr deal would be a decent addition IMO.

32 really, that it not old at all for a modern day RL player, 35 is the new 30. players regularly play at the highest level 35-37 years old. i would say at 32 yes its the back end of prime years but still 3-4 years of prime years left in a forward. i'd wager the average retirement age at the top level is 34-38 bracket as apposed to say 30 years ago 30-33 bracket.

| The age doesn't bother me though the quality might. Not an NRL fan so no idea what he might bring.

| Gareth Ellis will turn 39 this year and is still going.
Peacock was our best prop at 36.
James Graham is England’s captain at 34.
Signing a 32 year old prop is not an issue.
Prior looks a good addition.

We'll have to wait and see, however I'm still happier with the squad even as it is over what we started with last year.

Pack looks better. Back line looks nothing special sadly. An injury or two in their and we’ll be in a right mess.
Compare that back line to see how far off we still are

Ex-International. Good links as they have Watkins. A unit.

So many numbers. 32 is still a risk imo, especially with the ammount of games he's played, for the handful of names being mentioned who were going strong well into there 30's, theres plenty more who decline rapidly. Im not saying Prior will, but its a risk we'r taking. But as i mentioned on the post you quoted, there looks to be plenty to like about his game so id be pretty happy with the signing, worth the risk.
