That taste must be really really bitter.

How many did Garreth Carvell play?

3, but Carvell was 3 years younger.

| Quote: SmokeyTA "If you cant make an impression on the first team at the age of 22, you probably arent going to tear the competition up. Pitts has had three years and not made any real impression, disappointed he hasnt fulfilled his potential here but I dont think he was ever going to.
Might go to Hull and make a career out of the game, but I doubt he will ever reach international standard.'"
How many Leeds fans thought this when you allowed us to take Carvell and Raynor???
I think there is more to this than meets the eye, either tied in with the Briscoe fiasco or moe likely you have your eye on someone and need to free a bit of space.
End of the day Hull need forward reinforcements and Jay fits the Bill. We will be more than likely losing 3 forwards at the end of the year and he will fit in nicely.

| Sounds like everyone benefits here.
FWIW I don`t think he was given the chance at Leeds and could have developed into a decent player.
Maybe it was something to do with Leeds clearing some space for a new signing which will be good or maybe paving the way for Amor to come back.
The article seems odd. It says Leeds were wanting to open up talks with Pitts for his future but let Hull talk to him.
Why would we do that if we wanted him to stay?
Good luck to the lad but come on Jay you don`t need to lick over in Hull so soon after been shown the door.

| Disappointing as he's showed real potential.
But then I don't see him in training every day.
To be fair, the way this club has been run over the last 9 years I'm not all that worried about him leaving.

I've been told what ellis is on at Hull and it's less than half of what sinfield gets in bonuses for kicking goals

You should try leaving your missus at home and you might find the smell mysteriously disappears

| Sounds to me like a good deal all round. Pitts was down the pecking order at Leeds, and needs game time at 22. Hopefully he'll develop into a good player. This sort of signing by Hull also adds weight to the fact that young British players are starting to look more attractive than older Aussies.

Do you realise that you can't add up?
Last year alone he played 12 times.
Nobody on the Hull forum is claiming he is a world beater or a big loss to Leeds (like some are claiming on here), just a young SL player with some potential, surely it's better us signing him, then some 30 year old average NRL player?
Hopefully he will fulfill the potential that he showed when he first came through at Wakey.
His statement on the Hull site is a bit silly though, we still have a way to go to catch up with Leeds, hopefully we are moving in the right direction on and off the field.

| Great post. All joking aside he could well become a very good signing in a year or two

| The fact that Leeds were in for Ellis (even if they weren't devastated not to get him) suggests they're interested in upgrading their back row. If Pitts is replaced by, say, Olivier Elima, then it would be a good upgrade for Leeds.

| Its not something I'll lose any sleep over. Much as its nice to have depth in our squad, realistically it was going to take a couple of injuries for him to get significant game time at Leeds, so best that he moves on. Hopefully he will continue to develop at Hull and prove us wrong. I guess we get some more space in the squad and one of the youngsters may get a better chance than before.
