| Agreed. It'd be nice to see BJB and co take over and kick on, but if Senior goes we have very little cover for next season. Add to that I'd say THIS year is the time to give BJB, Watkins and Hardaker every chance, certainly in regular SL games. No point in not TBH.

This week: Four keys to a Rhinos win in the WCC:Transparent Backgrounds/Waldorf.gif |
|
| Interesting that this announcement comes on the same day that Bradford announce the release of Dave Halley from the remainder of his contract and that he's off to Keighley until the end of the season to recover his match fitness after a long lay-off.
Still only 24, plenty of experience under his belt and capable of playing either at full-back or on the wing.
I can't understand for the life of me why he's not had a crack ahead of the likes of Royston and Crookes at Bradford, but might he have provided a more cost effective solution than retaining Webb?

Maybe just to the fact that he's a huge gamble in terms of game time.
IIRC an impressive 2008 season, followed by a write-off 2009, then an awful 2010 season, and hasn't played this year I don't think so another write-off.
Yeah, get him signed up. That's a no-brainer

He'd be cheaper than Webb for sure but there's a very good reason for that.
Dear me Andy, the kid is hopeless.

Your opinion, and you're entitled to it.
I happen to think there's still a good player in there if he can get fit and stay fit. He'll be back in SL in 2012 IMO.

| Halley seems another Kevin Penny/Paul White type of player to me.

This is a terrible call. Halley can run fast and has plenty of enthusiasm, but other than that has little ability. Can't break tackles and more error prone than Michael Platt was at the height of his brain explosion period. There's a reason he's being shipped out to Keighley. If Leeds bring this guy in we might as well be looking to bring Worrincy and Sheriffe back to SL as well. If you don't believe me read the equivalent thread on the Bulls board.

I dont remember this been agreed accross the board. Fair play you have banged on about it long enough but i don't think its nailed on.
In this seasson when he would have got more chances than ever, he is yet again injured. Some of these kids are just injury prone.
Personally if our future is built totally around Watkins and BJB i am a little worried.

Oh I don't disagree.....that is why i'm also in favour of giving other promising young uns (like Wilson.. etc) a good run .....and signing a good (NRL?) genuine threequarter (Cooper?) - not another forward masquerading as such.

What is your obsession with Cooper? He must be nearly as old as Senior.

| Fwiw Cooper is 32 and still performing to a very high standard as shown in the WCC and the NRL this year.
Plus he's way ahead of Senior in current form.(before his injury)

| This season is a write off anyway so why not throw one or two of the kids into the fray - give them some experience while it doesn't really count.

I agree with Nantwich on this one. Cooper would still be an outstanding signing, on a maximum 2 year deal. The blind faith in youth, regardless of whether they can cut it, is what I don't particularly agree with. But I'm coming round to the idea that Wilson might be worth a run out.
