I always used to get a new jacket for Christmas and used to wear that. I aslo had a hip flask that only got used on boxing day. There was also that pleasant feeling of heading home knowing you were going to spend the rest of the day eating and drinking.

Northstand surely?
Southstand all fags & cheap perfume, purchased on Christmas Eve by half-cut boyfriends or husbands.

| The 80's for is remembered 4 as a young lad going 2 the game on my dads shoulders then once in told 2 sit at the front of the southstand on the wall and wait there till he came for me at full time...
Then we would go round and wait for the players to come out from the changing room for autographs and even sometimes going into the changing room...the good old days....

Fletcher: Course, he sees 'imself as an authority on curry, he does, on account of where he was stationed in the army.
Rudge: Where? India?

| John Carroll broke his leg (compound fracture ala Chev Walker) at the Recreation Ground, 28th March 1982. It was during a regular league fixture which Leeds went on to win 27 - 12
John Carroll's next 1st grade outing for Leeds was two seasons later on the 25th September 1983. Again it was a regular league fixture against Whitehaven, this time Leeds prevailing 48 - 8 at Headingley.
He would play in the following two fixtures V Hull and Castleford respectively but they were to be his final outings for the club (not withstanding a non playing substitute 'appearance' V Hull KR in November 1983.)

Gosh was it really that long ago. I also remember John Holmes dropping to loose forward at some point during his latter years: when was that exactly and how many games there ?
