Who says anything about 'afford' ?
As for the marketing in random publications, they've been like that since I lived down there 10 years ago ....
When it comes to ex-Union players, there's nothing to stop some smart PR on the back of some players only to withdraw at the last minute. Ellery Hanley to American Football, anyone ?

Yeah and does it actually work? We were sponsored by TNT and that didn't do us any good! It doesn't work, especially in today's society. |

I too would like a Cumbrian team although I doubt whether its core support would be substantially larger than that of Harlequins.
As for Bradford's solitary development officer, if this is true it's a far worse reflection on them than it is on Harlequins.

Leigh? The same side who should be in the 3rd tier? Only because they have a nice ground does not mean they should be in SL. If that was the case then put Doncaster in SL too. |
