I would rather send a message out about laziness and shocking defensive performances, and rest Senior.

| I know Smith has just put in a good performance, but does he have to play?
I mean he will have arrived back in Leeds understanding that we have a strong back line and that he may have to sit some weeks out.

I would hope that players believe form is an indicator to be picked, rather than whether we had a strong back line on paper before he came back.

He doesn't have to play, but he's put in some decent performances recently, though not always, so I think he should keep his shirt. He could also do with the gametime as I think he is still a little off the sharpness we saw last season.
A week off would do Delaney more good than any of the others IMO. Hall has also played the last 11, so could be in for a rest, and would allow Smith to stay where he is

Does one game represent "form"?
I thought Smith rescued a pretty ordinary performance against Wigan in the Cup with the winning try (his kick returns in particular were shockingly lateral in a game where field position was everything) and didn't pull up any trees against Wakefield at centre.

I thought Smith was poor against Wigan, and also thought he was against the Bulls. Had he been dropped against Wakey I would have had no complaints. But against Wakey in the centre, he had a very good game and has now followed this up with an extremely good game against Quins.
Senior on the other hand has been poor for weeks now IMO. If anybody deserves to be ommitted from the backline it is him. That said I also agree that it may be a good time to give Delaney a rest, if a rest is deemed as required.

We would still have coffee tables, right?

We have had some good debates about coffee tables, diets etc.

I'd agree with that and agree that against Wakefield and Quins he has improved significantly.
Did you notice how Wille Poching had a couple of words with him before every restart this Saturday?
A bit of one-on-one coaching maybe?

Thanks Tony...but I invite you to take another look at some of the responses I received from the likes of "Ear of the Biff" (sp) and "Pug" (sp)...and others.
I eventually 'let go' because I realised I was never going to be given a rest from the [ipurile/puerile[/i attempts to be top 'funny guy' from those more determined to play to the gallery. ("Debate" that most certainly was not.)

Thank you.
Some of course might now see me as being in "your camp"...something I really didn't want to become part of.
Whoever ends up losing out in the starting line-up against Crusadors (for me Webb, Donald, Delaney and Smith for various reasons should all start, with Hall, or possibly Senior, on the bench)...then I hope that individual does go on to get one of the sub spots.
But hey...who cares too much as long as we continue this fine run of form.
