| To be fair it would have been quite simple to make our first game against Wakefield a home game and our second game an away tie.
A couple of slight tweaks to the fixture list and both Leeds and Wakefield are happy.
Saying that and looking at how the football is panning out.
Home advantage without the crowds isn`t helping that much.

| Quote vastman="vastman"It's far more basic than that. Leeds is one of the two near sell-out games we have. In a time when clubs need to recoup as much as possible, it baffles all logic to me that the SL would sacrifice this one, I just don't get it, save it for later, surely most of the starting fixtures could have been made as derby free as possible'" Missing the point again. This is a loop fixture, all of which have been front-loaded, and there is a later Wakefield vs Leeds game scheduled for Belle Vue. As with all clubs when the fixture lists were being prepared Wakefield will have been able to submit a few key preferences, and I see that the other game is scheduled for four rounds from the end of the season, which suggests the club asked for it to be as late as possible.

This is true. Trinity play Leeds at home in round 22 on 30th August. It is pretty irrelevant where games are played before crowds are allowed.
As yet, we don't know when and how crowds will be phased in but it's the number of home games after that that will affect income. alcohol sales allowed? I guess those games will be evenly spread h/a.
If I was to have a gripe it would be that they seem to have botched the loop fixtures when they reduced the number. Wakefield have Leeds at 'home' Wigan at saints in round 2 and Huddersfield at magic. Despite what the experts say, I don't think that we'll be fighting against relegation, but that's a tough draw.

| Quote Simmo71="Simmo71"Thompson should be in the 17, but I’d definitely have King in before Donaldson.
He’s a willing runner and puts in a shift, but NEVER breaks a tackle.
Decent squad player, but very mediocre.
King showed he can break a tackle, something we’re short of.
Yeh, he’ll lose the ball occasionally, but I’d take that if he creates openings.
Barrie Mac used to lose the ball plenty, but we’d still have him charging in.
What we need to make sure is some one is there backing up the small breaks like Danny Mags.
Well miss Walker in that respect.'"
Donaldson is a very useful player, and deserves to be in the 17 most weeks. Brings some enthusiasm and brilliant defense off the bench, sharp trains the house down and sets terrific example to purge players. We will have plenty of injuries this year (already busted up!) and a player like Donaldson will be very useful....

| I like Donaldson's attitude and I think he's a good squad player. However, ultimately I see hm as a bell weather for any title ambitions. If he makes the first choice 17 (same goes for Liam Sutcliffe) we are not ready to lift the big prize.

Not as simple as that. In this wierd season we are getting, any of the top 4 can win a playoff...
Injuries and the dreaded C19 tests will play a part too....

| I'm optimistic that we'll push hard this season, and I don't doubt that Covid will have it's say. But going on pure ability I stand by my comments. Donaldson's chief virtues would be: great competitor, total professional and good role model for young players. Apply that job description to our title winning teams and the most natural fit would be JJB. Difference is, JJB turned out for GB. That's a massive drop off.
