| Unless you’re BMD apparently. Very irresponsible comments from him recently on the topic.
Hope Stevie is OK first and foremost and that he gets the green light to return to play.

| Whilst I hope he’s physically and mentally ok for the future, I think the club should seriously consider getting rid of Ward. The amount of people on here who say we’re not a charity, then in the next breath want to keep a player who’s out injured more than he plays is quite laughable. Club captain, and on a fair whack is not going to help Leeds move forward. I get the sentiments, I really do, but it’s all getting pretty boring now with him.

First & foremost lets make sure he's healthy off the pitch long term.
Nobody has been as vocal as me about how we recruit or retain certain players but ffs this isnt a popped shoulder or another knee reconstruction let the Club & medical team make sure the lad is ok before we issue his p45.
Hypocritical possibly but as i saud above his long term health takes priority seriois concussion isnt "boring" its life changing.

I agree, and like I say, I hope the lad’s ok long term, but how long can this go on for? Someone seriously needs to step up and tell him to jack it in for his own good.

Let’s not get on the moral high ground mate, I feel for him being injured all the time, and I’m well aware of what depression causes thanks. I meant purely from playing side of things, it can’t carry on like that.

| Boring may not have been the best term to use but I agree with the overall point that we're a rugby club with a limited salary cap and we need to make balanced decisions that are in the best interests of club and player. As Sgy suggests people are happy enough to bin other players off with persistent injury (e.g. Crosby) with little thought to their well-being, but as soon as you mention mental health there appears to be a view that the need to impact on the pitch goes out of the window. Of course we have to consider Stevie's wellbeing as a club and a fanbase, but at some stage we need consistent performances on the pitch and if that isn't going to come then the right decision needs to be made.

Crosby lost a child, I can’t even begin to imagine what he’s been through, and deserves a chance to finally show he can perform for us.
The problem with Stevie is, it’s not an isolated incident, and it’s not helping him or the club. I partly blame McDermott for using him as a crash, bang, wallop second row tackling machine, when it was clear from watching him in the academy that he was an out and out 13 with a good pair of hands.
Like I say, nothing against him whatsoever, but the club need to make a decision and pretty fast.

Sorry I appreciate it was a turn of phrase but, I personally think the 'it's getting boring with him' is a tad crass, He has concussion and quite rightly (not according to our ex head coach though!) there are protocols which need to be passed, talk of getting rid of him because he's suffered concussion which is nothing related to his previous injury sees incredibly harsh.
These players go through a hell of a lot for our entertainment.

No they don't, they need to make sure Ward is back to full health/fitness and passes all protocols before he plays again.
