| Quote: Pieman "like I said he didnt bend him backwards he tackled the legs, the players on top bent him backwards. Its not the comma you need its the ability to read'"
he didnt bend him backwards, but he had a fellow player in a dangerous position, an potentially injurious position, and rather than pull back from that, Tomkins took a second effort pushing further into that position.
It is classless, cowardly and completely against the essence of our game and its not the first time he has done something similar

| You have to hold your hands up and say he's a quality player and blew us away last night...without doubt the best full back in the superleague and a real game game breaker. Unfortunately he's a niggly, sly and often dirty git which he needs to remove from his game as until he does he'll never be considered as a true rugby league great by anyone outside of piedom

| Quote: Ande "The tackle wasn't the best and i can't believe that he didn't know what he was doing.
He is however the best we have got and could be the best we've had. He is a wind up merchant big time but look at Billy Slater, he is exactly the same. Opposition fans loathe him but theres not a team who wouldn't have him. I agree with the poster who says he may struggle behind the England pack and not play as well with Brough and whoever plays 5/8 but the England pack is good, very good and as long as he can stay fit and healthy he gives us a great chance.
Quality player and outside the game i bet he isn't such a bad guy either.'"
I think they realised the position he'd ended up in, and were holding him up rather than pushing further. It only got dangerous when a couple of Leeds players ran in and made the situation worse.

If you see it from the other angle, you can see Tomkins push again at the back of the knees, he makes a clear and deliberate second effort.
Its not the worst thing on the world but it is pathetic and wrong and unnecessary from Tomkins.

| Sam Tomkins is quite simply a joy to watch. He's a beacon of light among the rest of the SL dross and the dreary.
Anyone requiring an object lesson in ascertaining the degree of tery on show by certain individuals need only pinpoint those whose obsession only allows them to focus upon the more unsavoury aspects of his game whilst completely ignoring his genuine class and abilities.
Without pinpointing anyone in particular, s are very easy to smoke out.

Yeah, s are very easy to spot, they are the ones who look at the likes of Tomkins and state that he is a one trick pony unable to ever challenge even the lower level Australian fullbacks then when he has a good game against a certain team proclaims to all and sundry their changing tune, going so far as to ignore the more unsavoury aspects of his game and vicariously reveling in his genuine class and abilities because it now suits their trolling.
This standpoint will of course change come the 2013 world cup where England will no world class players because of their almost masochistic love of all things Australian will leave them a permanent semi-lob on which is lost when anything Australian isnt the absolute bestest.
Yeah, s are usually found out very swiftly.

he tackled his legs, he cannot see above him whats happening as he dove in low. He maybe knew once the players top half was bent onto him. Watch it again without screaming at the tv and see.

I didnt say, or to be honest think that Tomkins deliberately put him in to that position. But When he was put in to that position the Wigan players should have pulled back, they didnt, and Tomkins made a deliberate second effort to push against the knees. Thats where the problem was and what the Leeds players took offence at. Not a player getting in to that position, but the second effort whilst in it.

| The players on top were to blame not Sam and should have pulled back so why is he getting the blame? He can push all he wants until called held, he cannot see whats going on above him.

Get with the programme, Sam Tomkins is responsible for every foul committed in Rugby League, except for Lee Smith kicking Finch in the face, that was Carmont's fault for putting in a high shot, though I dare say Tomkins put him up to it, the dirty get.

Feel free to locate any post where I've stated that Tomkins is a one-trick pony.
Good luck with that search.

He may or may not find that post. That doesn't really matter though, the theme of his post is still correct.

Genuinely made me laugh out loud that did.
