I have a very good reason why Peacock or any other Leeds player did not make the short list, and i would say it is fairly conclusive.......No Leeds player made the list because they were not deemed good enough by there fellow professionals. Simple as that really and in truth is it really that shocking? Really?

The only sour grapes here seem to be from Leeds fans convinced that not one of their players making the shortlist is somehow wrong.

That's arrogance at its worst, and your statement that people who stick by their team through thick and thin are somehow "unintelligent" beggars belief.

Let me spell it out for you. Leeds beat Wigan because they were the better team on the night. No end of bleating about Danny Maguire (frustrating though it may have been), tetchiness about MOS, and pretentions that the hubcap is a trophy will change that.

That's because in the order of things, you winning was the lesser of two evils. And I hardly "sucked up".

One other thing that has changed is that back when I praised Leeds, you were a clean team who played well. This year, you've got away with far more than even St Helens have.



Don't talk wet. After the match last week, I posted this:

"We let ourselves down tonight. We did what we did against Huddersfield a few weeks ago. Instead of playing well and being the better team, we dropped our discipline to their level and gave away penalties where we shouldn't."

Arrogant? Not one bit. Calling other fans stupid for supporting their team? Not me, look a bit closer to home.



Read what I posted above. I admitted Leeds were the better team. I don't blame Danny McGuire's cheating at all, however I do think injury to Paul Deacon didn't help. As for tetchiness about MOS, again, look a little closer to home.

If that is the case, I'm sorry, I made an assumption that someone posting on the Leeds board in favour of Leeds with arrogance akin to certain Leeds fans who have already posted would also be a Leeds fan.

im interested to hear you explain how it is arrogant for a saints fan to favour Leeds above Wigan?

OK, given that Wigan and Leeds currently stand with 2 wins each out of 4 meetings, Leeds only just beat us (no matter how questionably) last week, and are now without their best (and most dangerous) player as a result, it would be arrogant to suggest that either team, let alone Leeds, are going to win by "plenty". By anyone. That's if we even face each other next week.

Assuming we do, in my opinion, it's going to be a close, hell-for-leather game, the winners of which will be exhausted and need to call up something amazing if they're to win the Grand Final.

I think we're going to have a memorable classic on our hands, but I hope for all the right reasons.

As for who's going to win it... who can say. Home advantage is with Leeds, fit bodies say the advantage is with Wigan. League position counts for nothing now.
