| I could be wrong but my opinion is the coach at Leeds now is purely there to do that, coach. Hes going to be told what to coach, which players are in and out and the likes of Wane and Powell wouldn't stay as long as Furner ultimately did. It simply would not work.
Wane announced he was leaving Wigan shortly after it was announced Tomkins was going and Zak was coming in. It can't have been a coincidence. So why do people think he would put up with that or probably an even worse situation at Leeds?
People wanting the likes of Powell, Wane or Flanagan need a reality check I think. Those guys would want control but the Leeds situation has changed now and the coach would be purely an assistant of Sinfield.
If the club thought the fans would accept Agar without too much unease he would have been appointed already. I am convinced of that.
In my opinion Kevin wants to be coach in a way but doesn't want to spend the time doing it as he has a youngish family so he wants to control the coaching department while not doing the coaching.
That's just how I see it, like I say I could be wrong.

| I would think any potential coaches either in Australia or over here will be contacting Furner about the Leeds job and I should think his advice will be "don't touch that job with a barge pole" sour grapes maybe ,but he must be very angry

| You may well be right Marty. If you are that sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.
No established coach is going to accept that. Maybe Burrow comes in as his mate.
Perhaps the other option is an assistant from NRL looking to make a name.
I don’t think Holbrook has signed again for saints next year, if I was in Charge i’d Offer him a big wedge, he won’t come but it would mean saints need to match it and they can’t be making much if any profit

| No coach really has control. The only time that has happened was McDermot from 2014 with the academy added to his remit, and 2016 with first team, and look what happened. The club won’t be bitten twice. I don’t understand this myth about coaches doing it all, they don’t.

| Appreciate no coach has full control on signings etc but I was responding to marty’s Suggestion that Sinfield is calling the tactics etc as a back seat driver, no top line coach would agree with that set up IMO.
Sinfield has talked a few times about the structure with a DOR, head coach and agar doing development as the right model. I hope we then see that reinstated and hope we get someone from NRL in as head coach in particular to try and improve the young players but who knows

| Has James Ford of York been considered.
I think that he has been given some high praise by several experienced people throughout RL.
He may not be ready for Head Coach yet but could he be brought in as Asst, to be developed for the Head Coach role in the future.

| Looks like TS is having an immediate impact at HKR. I hope we don't end up regretting not moving for him.

Him allegedly offering his resignation to GH over the Furner situation kind of goes against that though.
