| The style of play isn’t the problem any more. We stuck to the game plan for 20 minutes and looked fine.
Then we rotate and lose all go forward and start making key errors and lose all discipline. The bench was just a net negative in terms of impact for me today.
Usual rubbish from some of the usual suspects for me. Bentley a penalty machine with no go forward. Lisone good for a couple of errors. Sangare only doing one stint. Newman none existent with and without the ball.
Add into that poor performances from usual solid players like Handley and Martin. Just too many 4 and 5s out of ten across the board.
Arthur will not be happy I imagine.

He’ll be disappointed but he’ll have seen decent effort from most players which is one plus.
My worry is that he feels we’re a bit of a hopeless basket case and ends up preferring to go back to Aus. I feel like we are going in a better direction under him and we could do with at least another year.
We looked better organised in the game and then errors and penalties again gassed us out on D and we revert back to headless chickenism. We don’t have the muscle memory to lean back on to under fatigue; which is what I think Arthur would start to bring in after a pre-season.
Some really poor errors again another head shaker for Kaeru.

| In his press conference, Arthur spoke about exercising detail under
Pressure . We could not do it
We were so poor as game wore on, such poor errors . Not playing the ball etc.
Nearly at full strength but we have a Bentley and Donaldson prop rotation.
Season gone in game 20, pretty depressing stuff.

We desperately need two props. Sangare, in his first chance to impress the new coach, gets driven back, panics, and flings the ball on the floor. Standard service from him. Lisone, at 16 -6 up and on their tryline, chooses to flop a around like a beached whalel and then makes a terrible mess of the play the ball. No surprise there. Just nowhere near good enough for a top six outfit.

| What are the odds on Brad staying on next season though? Is there enough to work with to tempt him to stay put?

| I really do hope Arthur stays another year at least. He can only work with what he's got, and there is now structure and process, as demonstrated in the first 20 mins. Unfortunately, after that too many players reverted to type with stupid, unforced errors and complete brain farts. Lisone just needs to go, another abysmal showing. Add in Handley and Martin having off games and we got what we deserved.

Shown up how exactly?
Martin, Smith and Lisone were worse than Bentley. It’s like you can’t wait for him to make a mistake or get penalised every time he plays. Strange man

My hope would be that his condition for staying would be a ruthless purge of contracted but substandard players, and a recruitment drive to match the ambition the likes of Wire, Catalan and now KR show on a yearly basis.

| I honestly think that BA has taken the opportunity to view the super league players first hand. He will return to Australia to begin recruiting for the new startup team. He will try to tempt players that he thinks will make both the move and the grade. Fortunately for Leeds that won’t involve any of our squad.

| Not sure what game the Bentley haters were watching he was leeds top tackler and never hid in terms of taking the ball into contact however hes not big enough and that should not be his job. Sangare is a complete waste of time an 18 stone forward who runs like a Granny! Once again Lisone innocuos against a decent team. Sort out the props and we win that game! Not one forward anywhere near 100m thats all you need to know!
Thought Millar was excellent today!

Miller was very good. I also thought the spine started very well and the 3rd try was brilliantly executed. In a way the problems are so fundamental that they are easy to correct. It's going to need radically better players in the middle of the field to do that.

| The Bentley issue is summed up by what you just said. He makes zero impact with the ball. Like it or not, that is half the game he's hopeless at. In what world is taking the ball up not part of a second rower's job?? You also fail to mention the mainly brain dead penalties he gives away. Where we are right now he's just as much part of the problem as Sangare and Lisone. The only difference is that he might work in amongst a much better set of big forwards, whereas I don't see Sangare and Lisone ever being part of the solution.

| The top tackler moniker doesn’t really help the argument for me either, not when he’s giving 4 (I think) penalties away. Cam Smith has topped the tackle count for the whole league, but I think you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who’d say he’s played to his best this year.
Agree with the post above, despite all that Bentley could work in a better functioning pack but it’d have to be as an edge back rower for me not an undersized ‘shudder’ middle…

| Odd flashes of brilliance in the first half gave me me grounds for optimism. That was soon extinguished as we reverted to type and, went back to mid table mediocrity . Some of the penalties we conceded were absolutely unforgivable, thus handing the game to Salford. I think most of us on here agree that Rohan Smith has devastated the club. The rebuild won’t be easy as several clubs will be chasing quality players for next season. Saints and Hull spring to mind. Wigan and Warrington seem more or less complete. Potentially at the end of the season we may not have a coach. Obviously not an ideal situation. I am reasonably happy if the rebuild takes two or three seasons so long as it’s successful.

| There’s no chance of people on here being happy with a three year ‘rebuild’.
Long term projects require patience and s level of understanding that for a few years it won’t be plain sailing.
