Don’t get me wrong I’m a big Gannon fan, think we all are, I was just thinking he’d likely be up against Bateman in an away PO game at Wigan, not sure it’s the best for a 17 year old. Ten years ago we could have put Carl Ablett and Delaney up in Bateman’s grid to settle him down.

Who knows how much risk is being run playing Mik, Mellor and King, maybe Gannon still plays if they are all not really fit.

What value does Thompson bring? Smith starting zane prop is what I'd have liked to see. Bench looking good though if we can get the interchanges right and roll them down the middle like the cup semi last year

Dwyer starting at hooker is a worry. Really have to nail the first twenty.

It is I hope he can nail some basic execution early on and let the forwards gain momentum before going up dark alleys, we don't need an opening set like the one v saints. Bonus of course is the added structure and talk myler brings at fb.

One that is slightly puzzling is L Briscoe who's in ahead of Broadbent (likely his successor along with sutcliffe) event though he's going.
