Agree but for me the focus now should be entirely on putting this season behind us and focusing on 2020. Decisions should be made with next year in mind.
Even within the same squad as last week, there are players like Oledzki and Smith who I'd like to see given more game time with next year in mind. |

Saving him for the first game of next season when the opposition will be fresh with aggressive defence (etc) seems even more risky if you think about it. We can't wrap him in cotton wool for ever, assuming he's physically fit. The sooner he gets out there and into the rhythm of playing the better. The first moments will be tense and anxious but arguably it will do him more good mentally in the longer-term to have 1-2 hit outs this year, ahead of the new season. |

He'd all pre-season to do that unlimitedsubs etc no point whatsoever in risking him games we have zero to play for but the opposition are fighting for spots in the play offs.

Glad he's getting a couple of games without pressure to feel his way in. As much as anything it'll be a lift to his confidence and I hope he can go into the off-season with a weight lifted and without the anxiety of waiting a few more months for a game.
