| I'm still hoping for a Paul Cullen/John Kear dreamteam.

| Quote: Biff Tannen "What a sorry mess this all is isn't it. I still stand by the stance that Furner should have been backed and given the opportunity to bring in his own players this summer and weed out lots of the dead wood. With the squad we have its been clear since the first few games that silverware is off the table and it's also now clear we won't be relegated.
By pulling the trigger now it suggests that the powers that be believe we are a top club and should be way above way we are. That for me is very poor judgement and sets up any coach taking the reigns from here for a similar fate.'"
We don't know what's gone on though, if Furner has caused division within the squad/the club it may be best to cut ties now rather than let it continue.
Like I say I don't know what's gone on Furner seems like a nice genuine guy but if there's an issue it needed sorting sooner rather than later.

| Powell's ruled himself out....not much point discussing.

| It’s all got a very Manchester United vibe about it. Coming off the back of the most successful period in the club’s history, with very little forward planning. Now looking to throw a wad at a series of different coaches and hoping something will stick. Totally ignoring the fact the squad is very poor.
For 2003 onwards see Class of 92.

| Some of these suggestions are classic. At least Bullseye was tongue in cheek.

Paul Deacon. He could teach Myler how to control a game behind a beaten pack

| Wane apparently interested in the job according to the Guardian.
I'm not sure. At one level he could be great in instilling some passion, better defence, and pride in the jersey. Then again, the guy is Wigan through and through. I only started watching Leeds when he was in our squad, but I'm not sure his past connection with the club is anything to get excited about (unlike Furner, for example, who was instrumental in a key season for us).
If people want a Graham Murray-style impact on the club, Wane might be best placed to deliver it, as much as he lacks Murray's warmth and charisma. Admit it, we all loved it when the likes of Morley, Fleary, Farrell and Glanville were hitting too hard in the tackle and we received an official warning from the RFL. Fans of other clubs thought we'd just become dirty, much as we have called out Wigan's tactics under Wane (although I'd hope Leeds don't go in for all this third man in cannonball stuff).
Personally, I'd prefer Tony Smith to come back (as I stated before Furner's appointment), although I admit this is much for sentimental reasons. A top profile Aussie could be good, but the appointment of someone like Flanagan would be un-Leeds like IMO (then again, so was the early dismissal of Furner). Interesting times.

| Wane would certainly sort the defence and the overall attitude out, but the recruitment at Wigan whilst he was there was pretty poor, and given how important that area of management will be over the next few seasons, I'm not convinced Wane is the right man long term

| What I hope is that GH and Sinfield spend time getting the right man, and that Agar is not on some sort of promise for an extension if we get better.
Its going to be interesting to see how the team performs in the short-term - they've done squat under 3 sets of coaches so this will hopefully some of the arguments about quality vs effort to one side (although I wouldn't be surprised to see our goal-line defence miraculously improve...). It'll also be interesting to see if any of our currently injured players suddenly get fit - will we see Ablett and even Dom the Invisible play in the near future?
