| Quote: tvoc "If Leeds play like they have in two of the last three games they'd struggle to beat Bradford next week. If they play like they did in the other outing it'll at least be a contest when St Helens are in town.
I think Leeds will bounce back this week but they need to lose this inconsistency if they want to get all the fans onside.'"
To be fair they were not that bad in the first half against Hull.
I can easily see us winning the next three, i think they have fallen nice for us. Saints at home, tough but if we bounce back like we did after cup against Wigan then we can beat them. Hull straight after the cup Final, kerching and Cas away, normally wouldn't be confident but i reckon the players must be really wanting to get that win against them now and they will have the LLS sown up so may be in a bit of a lull.
There you go, my glass is half full

| We responded well to the SF loss, responded well to the Cas hammering at the start of the season by going on a winning run, potential definitely there that we could respond again. Add in the last South Stand game and hopefully that should make the players even more determined to win this week.
Like some of the losses in the regular season against Warrington, Hudds and Widnes, this team seems to struggle with the favourites tag and rise when written off.....which to be fair happened quite a bit in the Sinfield, Peacock era and even pre McDermott.

Leeds could win a treble (oh they did) and some fans would still not be onside

| For clarification i wasn't actually comparing Baldwinson to JJB or Ablett.
I was asking if we thought we are a better team with Ablett and JJB.
Personally I think we are better with either Sutcliffe or Keinhorst in for Ablett and Garbutt in for JJB.
As for Baldwinson i don't think he has been given enough game time especially last year when we played like mugs all season.
But hey ho we move on.
As for Ablett and JJB they have done little to warrant an almost guaranteed place regardless of how they play imo of course.

| Agree regarding the make up of the
Pack in general. It's not that they have become bad overnight, just that they are for the most part work horse players. That has become even more evident as they have aged.
Delaney,Ablett,Jjb,Galloway and the coach even tries to get big minutes out of the likes of cuthbo and Garbutt.
I'm sorry but the time for JIB and Delaney should be up as soon as their current deal runs out. The coach will never use them sparingly or " responsibly " he only knows how to flog them.
Cuthbo excelled at impact and off load, Garbutt can make big yards and pull defenders in, Parcells skills are obvious as are Wards and I still think we haven't seen the best of Ferres.
The fact is Leeds are doing it the hard way and always seem to be hoping for a bit of luck or piece of solo magic to score.
We badly need a halfback that can kick and lead us around the park and we need w back rower that can bust some tackles.
I think the game vs Saints will be a long night if they don't give away stupid ball or silly penalties.

| Just on Galloway, he was a rep player six years ago. He became a plodder in a very poor Tigers team, and was basically the butt of commentators jokes in the last few years before he joined Leeds. He was one of the slow, lumbering forwards who have generally disappeared from the NRL along with the shoulder charge. Just as at the Tigers he can be a workhorse prop in SL. Nothing wrong with that, but pack leader?
Singleton just looks too small for me. He has the right attitude in defence but he's a pudding with the ball.
In any event I think most would agree its our backrow which really looks poor nowadays.

| Quote: Charlie Sheen "It depends what you define as average. He was one of the most consistent props in the NRL for a decade, won rep honours, and came over at 29 so I'm not sure who we could've got at the time who was better, and he's been excellent when he's got a run of games. As for average recruitment, Ferres was a international back rower at the time we signed him, so again, not sure what more you could've asked for? As for workhorse props, What's wrong with being a workhorse prop? That's the job of a prop, in fact, I'd say we lack them at the club.
Our props when fit are, Cuthbertson, Galloway, Garbutt, Singleton and Mullaley. That's a very good group of props, but getting them all in the 17 at the same time has been the issue. Prop isn't where we're lacking, in terms of the squad, it's our lack of athletic back rowers who actually know how to run lines that needs addressing. Ward is a class above the rest of them. Sadly, non of the kids in the academy or on DR are anywhere near ready to replace the likes of Ferres, Ablett and JJB.'"
I define average by what i actually watch not what a CV says & the added fact we were hardly fighting Clubs off for him
We signed Galloway when we needed a pack leading Prop/Enforcer to compliment Garbutt Cuthbertson & Singleton.
Wrt Ferres England BR or not he's been poor in a Leeds shirt or continually injured.

Ah the genius & foresight of McD to prove everyone wrong & Ward is not the new Sinfield but a crash ball, tackling machine.

Who said he was 'the new Sinfield'?
I don't think he is quite in that mould, but i also think there is more to his game than what you said. He is clearly playing to how Mac wants him to right now though, and i can see why you have come to that conclusion... maybe in time and under a different coach we will see more dimensions to his game.
