| Agree with that Biff.
I suppose it depends on how fit Sutcliffe, Handley and Hall are for this one.
We might have to move Briscoe to centre with one of Golding or Walker on the wing.

| Quote: Biff Tannen "Agree, Walker has shown some good signs early, that is great and hopefully it leads to swift action from the club and getting him tied down to a long deal. He has a long way to go before becoming a first team regular though. That said, i think there is a case for putting one of Golding or Walker on the wing over Briscoe in coming weeks, He has terrible at times and needs a wake up call.'"
Walker FB, Golding W, is a possibility, depends on who is fit this week with Hall and Handley struggling and Sutcliffe not looking good. I imagine the latter will be missing.
Wrt to Briscoe, we've tried Handley at centre with Hall on the wing, we've tried Hall at centre with Handley on the wing. Maybe could go with Briscoe at centre and having Handley/Golding/Walket RW. Granted it's a bit of a risk given Briscoe's form and it might continue into a new position but he's always more potential to be able to play centre than the other two wingers imo and maybe the new position without having to deal with so many kicks might do him the world of good right now.

| For the 7th time in our last 17 league games it'll be James Child as ref.

| Quote: PrinterThe "Already complaining about a 17 year old not getting enough games.
Golding probably will start at FB when fit, but how old is Golding and how experienced? If we hadn't given him the shirt when Hardaker left and instead signed someone for FB we'd have people complaining he wasn't given a chance, half a season in and people already want him out because they've seen a shinier and newer toy they like.'"
The old adage applies - if their good enough their old enough.
Real class players shouldn't be held back - if Walker is better than Golding he should be picked on merit not because we have recently given another youngster a shirt number!! Real class needs to be developing at an appropriate rate how old were the likes of Harris, Schofield, Farrell etc playing in the first team? Not sure how much good two years at Featherstone or Bradford will do Walker TBH - not done much for Lilley - no wonder the thought of that is pushing him towards an alternative development plan?
Walker oozes class like Watkins did who was 16 when he made debut for Leeds - Age is a number.
Most fans want t coach to pick the best available 17 - not you though - happy to have half a side of old men because they were involved in the glory years and hold back real talent because we didn't give them a jersey number in January!!

| The old adage of if their good enough their old enough is quite frankly stupid when applied to Rugby League given just how physically tough and demanding it is.
I'm as excited by Walker's future as much as anyone, I just don't want to see that ruined by asking too much too soon on a lad who still had A LOT of developing to do physically. I want talented youngsters to have great 15+ year careers, not a few years because too much was expected of them too soon and you've broken their bodies to bits. Luckily the club realise this and don't suffer from your total lack of patience.

| Walker is 17. If he is demanding to control his coaching and development, when he plays and in which position we might be better letting Warrington take him off our hands.

| he feels full back is his best position and would like specialist coaching to help him improve. if you think wanting to become a better player is getting above himself then I guess most of the squad should leave

I would think that wanting to be a better player was an integral pre-requisite to keeping him at all. Similarly important would be the ability to work with and trust his coaches.
Walker is 17, the most important thing he could possibly learn at that age is that he knows absolutely nothing and certainly not enough to be dictating his coaches.

| Arent those the rumours, that Walker wants a specialist development plan and to play FB whilst leeds want him to play 6 and this is factoring in to his decision to maybe go to Warrington?

| If Leeds do want him at 6 long term it'd still be a long time before they went with that. I think after Sutcliffe hadn't really worked there they won't be rushing a teenager into that position and he probably would start off as FB when he becomes more of a regular.
By the time any coach is ready to consider starting him in the halves (possibly 3 years away at best) then I doubt McDermott will still be coach, likewise Tony Smith at Warrington.
