38511.jpg [b:3v5chy3z]Brian McDermott paraphrased Peter Fox.
"He'd say if we had 13 Bernard Dwyers we wouldn't lose many RL games. It's the same for us with JJB"[/b:3v5chy3z]:38511.jpg |

we have been supposedly linked with gareth widdop as a possible signing for 2018 when he was out of contract at st george.
But due to his very impressive early season form the dragons have reportedly tabled a $2.2 million 3 year deal for him
www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-pre ... e27c4ed0f9
can't see widdop ever coming back to sl whilst in his prime, unless he doesn't get an nrl deal and the only option open to him is to come over to our comp

| Can't see Widdop leaving the NRL. He's in fantastic form at the minute due to him being out of contract soon. Maybe after his next contract he could give SL a go?
Pretty unique circumstances regarding Widdop though, although he is English, he has lived in Oz a long time and I bet him and his family consider Australia home.

| rumors that he is looking at coming home in 2018. that should be a marque signing for anybody, hope we are in for him, hope he understands the south stand abuse was more admiration than malice. we really need to be in for these type of players. graham and a world class halfback will do wonders for our team

| he doesn't look as effective playing for the Bulldogs recently as he used to. he will be 32 next year and has been playing regular first team rugby since he was 17 years old seems like he's been around forever, that has to take its toll on a front rower who does big minutes. Not sure he is the player we should be looking to throw the big bucks at, i would be far more interested in Widdop but his current form will keep him in NRL more than likely.
As others have said, Graham to finish up at Saints with his old pal Roby.

| I'd prefer Joe Mellor from Widnes, not sure what length contract he's on tho.

This. Rate him highly and don't expect Widnes to keep hold of him. It surprises me that Warrington went for Kevin Brown over him.

yeah me too, brown is a show pony player, not quite a flat track bully in a leon pryce way, but definitely likes the good going and liike it his own way.
i would go for mellor as well, even if moon dose stay in the halfs have moon lilley and an other is a good idea, with sutcliffe as utility option

Yes, to be fair to him he was pretty good while here, and whilst it was obviously the wrong time for Him (not helped by the visa thing iirc). But he put the effort in while he was here and left on good terms. I also think he would add an extra dynamic and some much needed punch to our generally workmanlike back row.
