Whilst a nice touch it reeks a bit to me too.
Getting shunted to Thursday for TV which no fan wants so they wheel out a special man of the match award. Come on, way too obvious.
The game is a dead duck anyway. Both teams are through. Leigh are rightly very happy, Leeds are just happy the season is over. I'm not saying players won't be trying but there is little to play for beyond professional pride.
Just trying to drag some extra punters in.

It will depend on middle/super 8's positions for both teams, and potentially magic weekend. At least twice then.
Magic weekend- that could be a more inviting fixture for Leeds next year.

I assume it only counts for league and not cup games. |

Of course it isn't, it's just Gotcha finding another way to say Leeds are cr@p and will be playing in the Middle 8's alongside Leigh next year.
Even if we found ourselves playing Leigh in the cup or again in the 8's, the trophy is only decided on the two original league games, just like the Adam Watane trophy between Wakey and Cas and the Steve Prescott trophy between Hull and Saints. |

Interesting times ahead for this game after the loss today.
Injuries to Burrow, Galloway, Ablett and Lilley could mean a totally different squad. Especially with Hall, McGuire, Delaney, Garbutt, Achurch, Mullally missing today's. Segeyaro could cop a big ban also for a gouge incident.
